I love you mom

Today's my husband's birthday and I took the day off to be with him.  We hope to also celebrate with a get together tomorrow.  Let's celebrate life!
But don't have anything related to his bday to show you today... don't wanna ruin the surprise for him.  I'm sharing another Mother's Day card I haven't shown.  It's the one my husband chose for my mother in law.  I used several patterned papers to end up with multiple layers I just loved.

I first covered the base with two different patterned papers.

Then used this same paper to stamp the image and sentiment and also a piece from the other side.

Placed them like this and also added stamped lace in vellum.  Love the effect of the stamped vellum and specially in this stamp to simulate lace.

Then added the big butterfly, flowers and pearls.  Very delicate and feminine.

Hope you love it as much as my husband loved it for his mom.

I am going to link this to Unity Stamp Co.'s Friday Friends with Flair... so leave a comment for the opportunity to win beautiful stamps.

Libreta Decorada

Hola...  Saludos de fin de semana.

(For English, go to the red text)

Para el pasado Día de las Madres, mi esposo y yo decidimos dar unos regalitos originales.  Aquí les muestro uno de ellos que era para una de sus hermanas.

For the past Mother's Day, my husband and I decided to give original gifts.  Here's one of them, which was for one of his sisters.

I personalized this journal type notebook which already has a simple pattern in the cover.  What I did was to add some details with contrast colors and embellishments.  Of course I stamped in Spanish with Latina Crafter.  I also included my sister in law's initials to make this gift very personal.

Adentro incluí además un marcador y un sobre pequeño.
I also included a bookmark and a small envelope inside.

Espero les haya gustado la idea.  Pronto les compartiré otras de estas libretas.  Gracias por sus comentarios.
I hope you liked the idea.  I will soon share more of these notebooks. Tks for your comments.

Friday - MAMI layout

Happy weekend!  It is officially Friday!  Let's party!!!!  LOL.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

For today's Friday Friends with Flair I am going to show you a layout that was published at the "Papeles y Más" magazine.  It is dedicated to my mom, since we are already in May... I guess it is very appropriate.  Mother's Day is coming up soon.

I used several stamps as main elements in the page.  This bird in the close up here for example...  I stamped the image in the paper and part of the photo, and separately with pink ink in cardstock and cut to place on it and create some dimension.

These delicate hearts also stamped directly on paper in different ink colors and added pearls to simulate they are hanging.

The sentiment in vellum and the hexagons distributed for balance, are also stamped.

I hand-wrote my journaling at left, aligned with ribbon... It says:  Mom has always been a strong woman, willing to fight to go forward.  God bless her!.

Hope you liked it...   Go find it in the magazine.  This magazine is getting better and better in every edition...  Don't miss it.

(Note:  In the magazine, there was an error, and my friend Anya Lynet, from Maia Ink, was mentioned as the author of this layout.  Hope she doesn't mind.  I don't.  Have you seen some of her work?  Check it out HERE.)

A mother's heart...

Hello my dear blog friends... and also those who follow me on Facebook.

I love this card I made... I had it in mind for a while and I love how it turned out.

I wanted to make this heart just like it looks.

When I saw this sentiment I thought of putting squares of patterned paper together and cut a heart shape.  I also draw lines simulating sewing.

I think I oficially have my first Mother's Day card of 2014...LOL!

I'm going to share this one on the Unity Itty Bitty a Day challenge in facebook.  :)

Also, remember to participate in my challenge.  Would love to have the 10+ friends participating for some nice goodies...  VIEW THE POST HERE.

Tks for your comments.

More Sparkling Stuff...

Hey friends...  I had more of the Mother's Day cards that I haven't share...  And if you liked my glittery hair girl  HERE,  then you'll probably love these...

Flower stamp is from Unity Stamp Co. and I just cut by hand the shape of leaves and added some glitter.

Sentiment was typed in the computer and I also used distress ink for the background and border punched this nice pattern at the bottom.

And look at this great heart also from Unity Stamp Co...  Love the glitter effect surrounding it.  I hope you love it too.

Same thing with the Spanish sentiment... dear computer.  And added some ink, washi tape and also border punched cardstock.

Tks for stopping by and for your comments, please.

Happy Mothers' Day!

Not a lot to say or explain...  I bet being a mother is a great blessing... and I know having one is also something to thank God about.  I wish all mothers a great day today... and that you can enjoy with your family and celebrate life and the opportunity God gives us to feel love...

Honoring moms... here are a few cards ... some simpler than others... some stamping, embossing, printing and distressing going on... but all made with lots of love.  Tks for stopping by.

Getting ready for Mother's Day weekend!

It's Friday again... How lucky are we?
I think this is going to be a special weekend... I guess it's all with the attitude.

Today I will have some very important meetings at work and we have visitors from other countries.  How cool... and at the same time can be stressful... So it will be a good excuse to start the weekend tonight with a little bit of wine to finish a great week of work... :)

Tomorrow we'll visit a children's hospital as part of some evaluations we have been attending for our dog to become a therapy dog... So far, he's passed all tests...  Let's see tomorrow.  I will have to prepare myself for this day... to see so many children in the hospital... but I am sure they'll enjoy our dog's company a lot.

Finally, Sunday is Mother's Day.  We'll be with family and hopefully having a good time with our moms.

Good reason for today me sharing with you a Mother's Day card.  I've made quite a few... most of them with Unity stamps.  This one I really liked how it came out.

I used this lovable big ticket stamp from Nov 2012 Unity KOTM and combined with a Spanish sentiment that says "for you" or "para ti" (from Latina Crafter).

I also used some other stamps in the background (from Glitz Design)... and other elements such as ink, doilly, buttons, cardstock and paper...  The cute clothespin is from Amy Tangerine.  I also typed "Happy Mothers' Day" in Spanish, printed and cut...

Hope you liked my card.  And tks for leaving a message.  I love to read your comments about my posts...

Happy Mothers' Day!

Here I am again... just stopping by to say Happy Mothers' Day!

Being a mother is a blessing, and I am sure it should feel pretty good...   I guess we, women, are born with a chip that only we could manage and understand... and even if we don't have the opportunity to have children, we do behave sometimes as mothers... either in our jobs, with our relatives children, with our husbands... and at some point even with our parents...  We have such a sense of being protective, teach, listen to others, love and give advice...  It's incredible.

So today, is a special day to celebrate our moms and to be a mother.

This is the card I made for my mom.

Used the "Mediterranean Stack" from DCWV... gorgeous papers with so many textures and patterns!!!

The chipboard letters are from My Mind's Eye.  The frame is a stamp from Unity.  Border punch from Martha Stewart.

I cut flowers from the patterned paper and placed them in the middle of the frame with 3D dots.

Have a great day!!!!

Thanks for your comments, as always.

:)

A Card with a Sketch

 Hey there!

Mother's Day is coming and I haven't done any cards or thought about any gifts... OMG!  This is what I've said to myself all these days when arriving home from work!

So, today, I decided to at least cut some papers to feed the need for the hobby!!!

I'm not very used to sketches, but I saw this one from Scrapping Everyday Miracles and I thought I could use it for a card.  You can see the sketch I'm talking about HERE.

And this is the card...

I used patterned papers from DCWV and chipboard letters from EK Success.  I distressed the circle background and inked with Color Box ink.

The flowers are from Portafolia and the pearls from "e."brand.

The sentiment stamp is from a "Spanish Memories".

I think it's kind of cool I used the sketch for a card instead of a Layout.   You know I love to be imperfect!!!   I usually don't use sketches because I don't usually follow the rules (at least when talking about scrapbooking), but I've found great inspirations on them lately.

Let me share some other quick cards I also made tonight before I'm gone to bed...

This is the inside of the card:

Have a good night, day, and rest of the week.  Don't forget to leave me your comment.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Hope you celebrate with your loved ones, mothers, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, daughters... and moms to be... well, well, well... Do you think the pregnant women should celebrate Mother's Day? Not that I disagree, but I recently discovered some people think they are already moms when pregnant, and some think they still aren't.

I have a friend (a father to be) who thought he shouldn't give a present to his wife on Mother's Day because she still wasn't a mother... she had 3-month pregnancy. But he knew she thought a pregnant woman should be considered a mother and shoud celebrate Mother's Day (and get presents). He defended his point of view saying that he is not considered a father until the wife gives birth. And he might be right... but anyway I made this card so he could give it to his wife.

I used a digital stamp image from internet and printed it in white cardstock and also in several patterned papers so I can cut the clothes. I also used some color pencils for the skin and hair. The funny thing is that this image looks just like the recipient. She will love it... I hope.

I also made this other one inspired in the "pregnancy" theme.

And, finally, let me share this layout with you. I made it last year. This is my mom when she was pregnant to have my older brother. Isn't she beautiful?

Happy Mothers Day... including those ladies expecting to have a child... Take care... :)

MOTHER

Oh Mother! Mothers are so special... They come in different kind of shapes but they are all very special. I can tell you about my mom... so unique. Sentimental, humble, lovable... at the same time a little weird ... hahahaha... I sometimes don't understand her... maybe it's because of her personality... maybe it's because I'm not a mom. The truth is that all mothers are special. Treasure yours if you have it... thank God everyday if you are one.

Mother's Day is next month... I've sometimes told you in my posts... I don't think we need a special day to give presents or celebrate love or relationships... but these days sure help... Mother's Day is a great tradition. Moms feel so good this day...

I made this card a few weeks ago when I received the new Cuttlebug machine... and I just wanted to see how it worked. I cut these hearts and embossed them and I said... Oh... I just wanted to see, these are scraps I had and I won't use these hearts... but then my compulsive obssession flourished... "I can't throw anything away... I have to use as much pieces of papers as possible"... hahahaha...
So I used this base cardstock from Hot Hues, which had similar colors of the hearts I had cut and embossed just for fun. Then I remember some dollies I'd bought and sprayed one with Shimmerz Spritz, shaped it as a flower and when dried, glued to the card.
I completed a flower with four circles bent twice, a flower and a button.

I stamped the sentiment about Mother's Day... and this is it. My first Mother's Day card of this year.
I hope you like it... or at least got some inspiration? Some say inspiration seldom motivates action... but action always motivates inspiration... so run now and take some action...
(card base: Hot Hues; stamp: Inkakinkado; inks: Color Box, Staz-on; flower: Portafolia; adhesives: Glue Dots, Scotch; miscellaneous: dollie, button, Shimmerz Spritz, Cuttlebug machine, die and embossing folder)
