CAS Sunday

It is CAS Sunday at The Outlawz Challenges again.

It is not easy to keep CAS without wanting to add layers, patterned papers and more embellishment. I made this card for the challenge of the "get well theme" so tried to use happy bright colors and elements that represent wellness, but keeping it CAS.

Like it?

I made a real mess in my table for this one.   Uffff!!!

Have a great Sunday my friends!

You can do anything!

Feliz viernes!!!!   Wooohoooo!!!  It is Friday!!!   I know you know... Just need to day it... LOL.

When you have self confident you think you can do anything. If you fail, you are realistic enough to understand and learn from it. If you succeed you get more confidence to continue doing more things.

This card reminds me that. Love the sentiment and the analogy with the shoes.  Hope you like it too.

I will have another class soon. Keep informed here and following me on facebook.

Hope you have a Friday full of confidence.

Leave a message for a chance to win with Unity Stamp Co.  Today is Friday Friends with Flair.

CAS Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone!

Just a quick stop to share a CAS card made for today's Sunday CAS challenge at The Outlawz Challenges.

The challenge was to make a CAS project using a frame.  To honor the challenge and the CAS style I used this fabric frame from Crate Paper and basically just added some stamps to create a scene.

Keep enjoying your day. Tks for stopping by.

Friday Tag

So here I am... With another great Friday ahead.  It's been a great week. I am sure the weekend will be even better.

For today's Friday Friends with Flair at Unity, I am sharing a tag I kind of showed it imcomplete on my fanpage the other day but now it is finished.

The callouts are frim patterned paper and the beautiful woman sillhouette and sentiment are Unity stamps.

I am ready to place it in my dynamic inspiration corner (dynamic 'cause it changes over time).

Have a great Friday and weekend!!!

More Kraft...getting ready for Monday!

Well, well, well...  Tomorrow is Monday!

I am not supposed to over think it... but it is inevitable... I have to think about it.  But making this card helped me wake up a little bit and don't worry that much...

I used kraft as base and deliberately aligned lines of color with watercolor pencils.

I then used my water brush to spread the colors and play with the transitions...

There's this saying I love and I really believe...  Attitude is everything!  Some people dedicate their lives to complain about others' decisions or behavior towards them, while losing the opportunity to just be happy.  Or sometimes, the problems or situations we all have, can be too hard on us but we need to keep it up.  I love this sentiment stamp because it really captures this feeling.

I also used kraft and vellum flowers and some sequins for finishing touches.

Whit this message... I'm ready for Monday.

I went Kraft ...

Happy Sunday my friends...

I went Kraft today... I don't know what it is that I know I have a lot of projects to complete but my mind keeps telling me I should do what I want... because I should let creativity just be it...
I wanted to use some "natural" elements today.  I was thinking kraft, box, brown, earth...  so I made this card.

I used a sentiment stamp from Unity Stamp Co., that a friend gave me... (tks Maia Ink!).

Also used two additional stamps from Unity (the branch and the rain - or water drops).

First stamped the sentiment and covered with a mask and then stamped the rain.

Inked some gray in the sky before placing the hand cut clouds, and then with watercolor pencils gave some color to the bottom of the card.

Stamped the branch separately, colored, cut and attached to the scene.

All was placed in a brown card base.

Hope you like it.
Let me know if you do leaving a message at the end of this post, or  a comment in the facebook link post if you get here through the fanpage.

Have a great Sunday!

Retro CAS Friday!!!

I have the perception this week went faster than any other.  Some people say that the older you get, the faster the time is perceived to you, since you have lived more and know how easy time goes by.  I guess when you are younger you feel there's not going to be an end, and then as you get older you suddenly realized all you have lived and how fast it went.

In this case, this week was full of work and lots of things to accomplish, so I guess that's why I had this perception of a faster week.  The thing is I am glad that today is already Friday!

I went retro with this card for the CAS Outlawz Challenges.  Do any of you remember an old phone booth?  I don't necessarily remember these red ones, but certainly some gray and blue ... LOL!

The card is CAS so it was made easily putting pieces of paper together and it is easy to reproduce.

I did some things and included some elements to support the vintage/retro look.  Some distressing ink to all edges provided an oldie look.  The dots, stripes and squares in the patterned papers helped a lot.    A half doily in the back (also inked) is key.  Finally, the golden eyelets helped a lot with the look I was trying to achieve.

These beautiful stamps (image and sentiment) are from Unity Stamp Co.  So I will link this up to Friday's Friends with Flair too...  Leave a comment for a chance to win great stamps.

Be Inspired!

I swear I wanted to be out of the scrapbooking room today.  I was there all day yesterday finishing some committed work for publications and today I was supposed not to even look at that room.  But the Unity Stamp Co Be Inspired challenge has been talking to me...  A hobby can become addictive and we have to be careful to maintain the balance in our lives...  This is why I always follow my heart and do what I love... but also watch out... If this becomes stressful at some point without control, then it has finished its purpose as a hobby, which is relaxation and provide room for creativity.  Anyway, I decided to made a card for the challenge because I don't have any stress at all.  LOL!

I used this kit I have acquired recently but had not used it yet.  Eeeek... Have some stamps in that position right now.  I try to use them all at least once.. or twice...  There are stamps I use all over again and there are some I use once and that's it.  Does that happen to you?

The kit is called "pocket full of posies" and it is from Simple Stories edition with Unity.  I chose to follow the colors of the challenge. You can see them HERE.

I stamped the pocket in a jeans-like paper and cut it separately from the flowers.  THen I stamped the flowers in different colors and cut for paper piecing.  I also added glossy accents, glitter and pearls to some of the flowers for some touch.

Stamped the sentiment in vellum and arranged with ribbon, patterned paper and cardstocks.

Love the final results.  The good thing about challenges is that you end up using materials or color combinations you probably don't think of, either because of your preferences or style.  So the challenges stretch you to do different things.

Have a great Sunday.  Please leave your love in your messages... Love to read them.

Latina Crafter Sketch Challenge #33 (LCSC#33)

Hello my friends.

It's been a while since I don't participate in any challenge.  At least that's how I feel... LOL!  And being today the International Women's Day, I thought I could participate in a special one.  I decided to follow this March sketch from Latina Crafter.  What more special than that, huh?

You can find information about it HERE.  You have the whole month to participate and at the end LC choose a winner.  It's cool and you get to play and have fun... go ahead.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card...

For the strips in the background I used embossed vellum, which I also inked with different colors.  I stamped a sentiment from "There's no-one like you" kit.  The little heart if from a special kit distributed during last month's scrapbooking convention.  I love the imperfection of the vellum transparency and the fact I left the flower chipboard behind the sentiment, without any color.

Hope you like my take on the sketch... and tks for stopping by and for your comments.  Those are the nutrients to this blog.  Have a great day!

Friends with Flair @Unity Stamp Co

Happy Friday.

Just a quick stop to say HI!  I have been busy catching up on so many duties after the convention!!!  Also working on some projects for the magazine Papeles y Más.

But I made this card for a co-worker's sister...  She told me her sister liked bulldogs and flowers and the color purple, among other things... But these are the three things I put together.

The dog is part of a patterned paper by Basic Grey. Flowers and sentiment are stamps from Unity!!!

Inside there is room for the gift letter certificate she will receive and for the message.
I handmade the banners and used washi tapes and stickers for final touches.

I am going to link this up to Unity's blog. Leave a message for a chance to win.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday...

Happy Sunday, Scrapper Myra's friends...  Hope you are having a nice weekend.

A great neighbor and friend is celebrating her birthday today.  She loves to celebrate so I made her this card for last night's celebration.

I used Unity Stamp Co.'s stamps and Studio Calico "Abroad" paper collection.

My friend loves traveling so I also embellished this magnetic frame for her.

She can change the  position of some elements since I added magnets on the back.  And she could also add her own...

I used same paper collection and some grunge board (Tim Holtz') and chipboard elements.  And of course some sequins...

Tks for stopping by. Your comments are really appreciated.

Take care... and don't forget to be imperfect... and enjoy it.
