Happy

Hope you are happy.

I'm happy. Today's a great day. Why? Just because...

Today I want to feel happy. I decide to be happy and make everybody else notice I am happy. Being happy can be a decision... not just a feeling, not just a consequence...

Go find a reason to be happy... and if not... just be happy because you say so.

This card was made for a Happy Birthday. I combined some patterned paper with embossed cardstock, and added some banner flags cut with my Cricut Expression.

I hope you like the stars with buttons I used as embelishments. I'm sorry I don't have the original packet of these beautiful plastic stars. They came in different colors and are self adhesive... but I don't know the brand.

And here is another card I made with some scrap paper from different projects. Making a background with several strips of patterned paper can result very attractive.

This butterfly stamp is from Inkadinkado.

After these photos were taken, I stamped a sentiment in the front that says: Happy Mother's Day.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

"For You" Card

Hello... Hello...

It's me... saying hi again and sharing some imperfection. The kind of imperfection that reminds me everyday that I'm human. Hope you are having a great Holy Week so far and that you remember the real reason this week is special. If it's the only time during the year, you are all in the family out of work and able to be together and share in the beach... it's ok... but please do not forget the real essence of the celebration. It's about God and he dying for us.

This is a card I made using the Cuttlebug to emboss the background. The embossed designed is a simulated handwriting... Sometimes there are so many things to say and write...

I spread some ink in the embossed writing to make it more interesting with darker color matching the base of the card and the flowers.

The flowers stamp is from Unity, as well as the sentiment.

Too simple you think? Well, it's in the simple things we have the most to notice. The simpler the things, the more significant they could be.

I Love Margaritas!

Hola... You know I love wine... but you should also know wine is not for just "drinking"... You taste wine, you get delight with every sip, you witness its evolution, because it's alive... and you pair it with food, and so on. Wine stands for special moments and not necessarily for party! However, when I want something cold (besides white or sparkling wines)... or maybe when the "ambience" calls for a nice tropical cocktail, one of the alcoholic drinks I definitely like is the MARGARITA! Oh, I love margaritas. So refreshing, full of flavor... the lime, the tequila, the salt... mmmmmmmmmmmmm... So I decided to make a mini album in honor to this delicious cocktail I enjoy when I can... And why not? I declare that my layouts, mini albums and special projects do not have to be only about birthdays, weddings, Christmas and special days. I love to make projects to inmortalize my feelings, my moments, or maybe that special anything on any day... hahahaha... Want to go for it? I collected some pictures to represent the different kind of shapes and styles of margaritas I've tried, and decided to put them in this mini album to always remember and honor its flavor. I will show you my pages and give attention to the journaling I will be reveiwing with each page... "I LOVE MARGARITAS... "... THIS ONE AT MEXICO WAS SURPRISINGLY LITTLE..." "... BUT THIS ONE'S NOT LITTLE AT ALL..." "... THIS ONE WAS MIXED WITH SANGRIA FLAVOR!" "... AND THIS ONE WITH THE CUP ON THE SIDE, OH MY GOD!..." "... DELICIOUS NO MATTER THE SIZE..." "... SHE'S TALL AND BEAUTIFUL, ON THE BORDER STYLE!" "... BUT MY FAVORITE MARGARITA IS THIS HOMEMADE... BY FAR." "... SERVED WITH ALL THE GOOD HOT FOOD THAT I CAN FIND..." Got it? I also included some coasters from places I've had margaritas. They are inserted as pages and surely add some interesting elements to the mini album.

This is how the mini album looks closed...

So, why not make a tribute to something simple in your life? I chose margaritas... Later I'll choose a favorite chair or corner of the house for a layout... or maybe that old table we've had forever deserves to be remembered in a special place...

I hope you liked my mini album... and the margaritas!!!

MOTHER

Oh Mother! Mothers are so special... They come in different kind of shapes but they are all very special. I can tell you about my mom... so unique. Sentimental, humble, lovable... at the same time a little weird ... hahahaha... I sometimes don't understand her... maybe it's because of her personality... maybe it's because I'm not a mom. The truth is that all mothers are special. Treasure yours if you have it... thank God everyday if you are one.

Mother's Day is next month... I've sometimes told you in my posts... I don't think we need a special day to give presents or celebrate love or relationships... but these days sure help... Mother's Day is a great tradition. Moms feel so good this day...

I made this card a few weeks ago when I received the new Cuttlebug machine... and I just wanted to see how it worked. I cut these hearts and embossed them and I said... Oh... I just wanted to see, these are scraps I had and I won't use these hearts... but then my compulsive obssession flourished... "I can't throw anything away... I have to use as much pieces of papers as possible"... hahahaha...
So I used this base cardstock from Hot Hues, which had similar colors of the hearts I had cut and embossed just for fun. Then I remember some dollies I'd bought and sprayed one with Shimmerz Spritz, shaped it as a flower and when dried, glued to the card.
I completed a flower with four circles bent twice, a flower and a button.

I stamped the sentiment about Mother's Day... and this is it. My first Mother's Day card of this year.
I hope you like it... or at least got some inspiration? Some say inspiration seldom motivates action... but action always motivates inspiration... so run now and take some action...

The power of a SMILE...

Oh Yes.... I have no doubt... Smiling is terrific! I sometimes feel bad about something... it could be a real problem, or it could be just the worries of the moment.... but when I decide to smile at it, everything changes.

Try it... Do you have a lot to do at work? And sometimes you feel like it's too much work for just one person? Smile. Keep positive and see the bright side: You control what you do, you can organize your tasks your way, you are the one who knows what's going on... smile.

Do you have an "economic situation" going on? Do you feel you might cry if you think of it too much? Well, smile. Try it. Remember everything is temporary. Remember about my post about time? Refresh your mind HERE. Nothing lasts forever... and that what you are going trough... will also past.
Smile at the new day... smile at the flowers... smile at yourself in the mirror... smile when you are talking by the phone... It works... Believe in your smile.

Send a card to someome and send a smile with it. Call that someome you haven't talked for a while and smile...

Oh, yes... I do believe in the power of a smile... a genuine, unique, simple and little smile. Try it.
