How do you spell your name anyway?

A friend celebrated her 40th birthday.

So... I remembered something that always gets my attention in her Facebook page.   Let me tell you.  She travels a lot. Right. She also goes to Starbucks all over the world. Her name is very pretty but it seems no one at Starbucks can spell it right. I believe she doesn’t tell the employees how to write it on purpose so she can enjoy all the different versions and interpretations of her name (that’s what I would do too).   And the cool thing is that she always shares a photo of the cup with the misspelled name...  This happens over and over and it’s kind of funny.

I think she should make an album identifying all places matched with the different photos of the cups with the different names.  Wouldn't that be cool?

So I made her this card. I needed to tell you that story before, so you can understand the different handwritten names in the cups silhouettes.

I used stamps and stencils from Latina Crafter.  I also used some inkadinkado stamps, vellum, bakers twine and a brad.

The correct spelling of the birthday grit is Scarlette. I hope she likes it.  I gave it to her during her surprise party but she collected all the presents to see them later... so let's cross fingers.

Inside the card...?  Well, guess what?   I was supposed to give her a Starbucks gift card.  That would have been the natural gift with this card.  However, that night (yes, I pretended to buy it on the way to the get together that very same day...),  I didn't find an open Starbucks on the way.  We are still working businesses with limited schedules or some still close after the Hurricane...

So I just inserted a bill...  that I hope she spends on coffee.... LOL!

Did you like it?

A couple of CAS cards. Just because...

Hello...

I usually like to use more media when creating projects, and even for cards.  The feeling of stamping, painting, use textures and get the hands dirty is awesome. LOL!

However , sometimes can be probably because the lack of time, or the urge to just make something fast... but I sometimes make quick and easy CAS cards. Not only CAS because they are simple and easy to replicate but also because I made them relatively fast.

This is the case of these two.

One is a birthday card. It is for a friend... male friend. And I didn’t want the card to have too many details because when I start adding I usually end up with too feminine cards. So this is meant to be a male birthday card.

The other one is very suitable for anyone going through tough times or just a note card.

For both I used Unity Stamp Co stamps.

You - Tiful !

Hey... Happy Sunday.

Here's an advise for you...

Be yourself. Find your own personality and just live. That’s key to happiness in some way.

Love this sentiment stamp because it can touch a lot of feelings and be relevant to a lot of people.

This is a card using  “Be a Beauty” planner Gal from Unity Stamp Co.

Hope you like it. Be yourself. Always.

More Stripes and Plaid...

Made some more time to make these other  two cards to share with Unity Show and Tell challenge Facebook page. It is  about stripes and plaid with Unity Girls stamps.

First one is Miranda Girl and I love her because she loves wine... just like me.  Actually this is a card I would love to receive. My birthday was about three weeks ago and I have to admit it was a very different birthday compared to other years. Since most people is lacking basic services in Puerto Rico, the reality is that there are other priorities. Just close people and family remembered my birthday, and those who had internet and were reminded by Facebook. LOL!   It was weird. I say I will celebrate same age next year. Yeah right. Hahaha!

I used patterned paper to dress Miranda and for the main background. Some washi tape with stripes framed the card.  I also balanced all out with sequins, buttons and twine with the sentiment which is like a sentence being completed.

The second card features Christine Girl.  She’s a Christmas girl.  I also dressed her up with patterned paper and painting; and used similar elements such as button, twine, and washi tape.

Do you like my cards?  Hope so.

Keep praying for Puerto Rico.

Halloween coming up...

It’s been difficult to keep track of regular days ... even more remembering special dates. It’s crazy.  But then again life goes on.  I have to be grateful because under all circumstances after the pass of Hurricane Maria thru Puerto Rico I’ve been positive and hopeful. And I am so very grateful to have a hobby that can keep me thinking, and busy when I need to relax.

So I couldn’t believe Halloween was so close.  Every year I expect this date with so much emotion. As of today I would’ve had my final costume and would probably be practicing a sketch or a performance. It’s not the case this year but I made some time to make this card...  will share with Unity Show and Tell challenge Facebook page. It is currently about stripes and plaid with Unity Girls stamps.  I said... “why not a witch?”  This is Esmerelda Girl and even though she’s a witch, sure she can be fashion conscious. After all, she’s a girl.  LOL!

I used patterned paper to dress this beautiful witch. The rest of the stamped image is colored. I also did a special burlap broom to provide dimension. I love it.

I decided to use this sentiment that is not necessarily about Halloween but thought it was cool for the fashion witch. Several layers of cardstock and jewels would finish the card.

Hope you like my card. Happy Halloween!

Keep praying for Puerto Rico.

Happy... sending it your way...

Hello again. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Here's a card made with CAS style... Clean And Simple.  Despite any simple or complex  techniques used within CAS, this style should be easy to replicate and usually does not carry too many elements.

So this card has a spray painted doily combined with corrugated carton, cardstock and vellum.   Image and sentiment are from Unity Stamp Co.  I also used eyelets and staples instead of glue to join some of the elements, such as the image printed in paper with the transparency... and the vellum  sentiment.

Hope you like my card and be open to receive the love being sent.

Keep praying for Puerto Rico. We are still hanging in there.

Believe...

Hi there. We continue struggling everyday with Puerto Rico situation. It's been hard. We've learned being comfortable is not a synonym of being happy.   We've learned we can live with so much less.  Well... at least some of us are positive and "think" we have learned. Some might seem not to learn anything and still complain about not having air conditioner on while others don't have food. But that's just life. And everybody has a different reality... and different priorities. The truth is that we have to believe. We have to believe this will end. We need to believe this is just temporary and sooner than later we will be "normal" again.

I want to take advantage of the moments I have internet and if I can share my hobby and art, I will.   Let me share this card I made using Unity stamps. It's a Christmas card and I love the angel. I used lots of different media for coloring it and love the final result.

I will be sharing this with current Take It Make It challenge of Craft Stamper Magazine. Link:  http://craftstamper.blogspot.com/2017/10/take-it-make-it-challenge-october.html?m=1

Hope you like it. Keep praying for Puerto Rico please.

Full of blessings card

Loved this Stamp I recently got as a prize from unity stamp co.  Such a beautiful flower.

An I love the sentiment too. So true. Specially now that we are lacking lots of basic needs after Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Can't complain when compared to others but so sad to see the whole island suffering.

Anyway...I cut several layers of cardstock alternating red and white ascending sizes.  Using the two white pieces as base I stamped the image three times with different colors.  You could also stamp in the large one and then cut the square in the middle and will have the same effect.

I assembled inserting the red cardstock between the two whites interrupting the image but creating a cool dimension. Love the result. Do you?

Sea and Beach Lover...

A coworker friend is having a birthday today.  We've been suffering some of many consequences of hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. We haven't been able to be back at the office to support our company because the lack of basic services such as water, electricity, gasoline, phone and internet. The impact of so many people not working and thus not getting money is just one of the factors affecting economy after this catastrophe.

But we must continue living and enjoying the little things.  My Co worker... She's a beach lover. I made this little sea world in a little box lid, thinking of her.  A little something inside the box for her birthday.

I used stamps, paper, net ribbons, stones, gems, flag banners, stickers and more...  Hope she likes it.

Enjoy the view

I made this layout the other day.  The photos were taken on my friend's second wedding. Her daughter is my goddaughter.

Curious thing is the layout is not about the wedding per se. I just loved to be At the wedding with this beautiful girl. She was radiant. And we were all combined with the outfits and looking good. LOL.

So the layout is about us being good looking and that's why I used the title "Enjoy the View".

I arranged several pieces of distressed patterned paper to frame the photos and fussy cut flowers from patterned paper and arranged with doily.  The title is a wood veneer.   Also, I traced straight lines for the handwriting journaling.

Hope you like it.

Today's my mother in law Birthday...

Yes. It's today. And it's also Friday. Cool!!!

Hope she has a great day today. She's a special woman, loving, hard worker, humble and very cool.

This card is inspired by her love for bright colors... or happy colors as she says.

I used a tag as center of attention with the sentiment, and created a background stamping same image in several colors multiple times.

Hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.

How do you start your day?

Love this image and this sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.

How do you start your day?  I definitely have coffee in my list. Do you?

For this card I used patterned papers, bakers twine and sequins, along with stamps.  Very simple but beautiful, isn't it?

Sketch inspiration given by current Unity Show And Tell challenge in Facebook. Will share with my friends there.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great night/day.

Happy Birthday to a Millennial! Not!

I made this card for a co-worker who turned 55. He's a very cool person. Everybody likes him. He always jokes about being a millennial.

For the card I used several stamps from different brands.  The message on the cover was simulating to be for a baby.

In the interior I complete the sentence to reveal the real message alluding the fact he's a baby boomer.

Hope you like it.

Halloween!!!

I posted this layout in social media but wanted to make sure that the few people receiving my emails from the blog, get to see it.

It's a very simple page with multiple photos.  I've been looking at some printed photos lately and making some layouts. Love to document as much as I can but I am conscious will not be able to do it all so that's why I print photos from time to time and have  them available  just in case I feel  the urge to make a page.

This was 2016 Halloween.  We didn't dress up at work which is not normal, and I improvised at night for the neighborhood's get together. I was a metallic witch. LOL !!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Anniversary!

Oh well. I don't know if you are like me in terms of scrapbooking...  when I started... at the beginning I wanted to make layouts and projects in chronological order. .. but then I realized this hobby is about having fun and relax. If I felt stress then it is not a hobby.  Do the order is determined by how you feel you want to make when you have time.

I have lots of pictures I printed because I wanted to make layouts.  But then I wanted to make cards... and mixed Media project... and no time... and blah blah.

So I found these... not too old. These are from last January.  But wanted to make a layout with them.

It was our 19th wedding anniversary this year. We just went to dinner to a great place and had great wine.  This page is to remember that.

We'll have 20th. Anniversary on January. Wow. We should celebrate...right?

Still missing you...

Some people compare the loss of a dog to that of a relative or a human significant someone. I think is very similar and I would even say sometimes losing a dog can be even more difficult. For some the dogs are their only everyday companion.

You are never prepared to lose a loved one but you know it will happen at some point. If that significant someone is older, chances are they will depart first even though it is not necessarily the truth.  You are also taught to be independent and live your life knowing that you must write your own destiny because your family will not last forever (neither will you).

With dogs however you know they depend on you 100%.  I shared with my dogson everyday. He waited for me at home everyday. He was always willing to love, to cuddle, to "listen"... or just be there without complain.   He never had bad feelings toward me if I didn't let him do something or didn't allow him inside. He loved me unconditionally. I miss him a lot.

This is a simple layout (another one) about him.

These photos were taken 4 days before he departed.

Be you-tiful!

Hello there.

I survived Hurricane Irma. Thank God at the last minute it didn't behave as expected and we are fine.   It was a category 5 Hurricane and would be the worst in 100 years for Puerto Rico.

I had some little time to make a card though. I made this card inspired by the current sketch challenge going on in the Unity Show and Tell Facebook page.  It is not as exact sketch 'cause I made some variations but it is to be inspired and not mandatory.  That's why I love their challenges. Refer to the photo at the end of this post to check it out.

For the card I stamped the image in a pink cardstock strip and colored.  I distressed edges of the cardstock and layered with pink and white patterned paper... all in the card base.

The sentiment was stamped at the bottom.
I literally framed the girl image face with a metal little frame and ended up with some sequins here and there.

I love it. Do you?

Here's the sketch reference.

Sea horses...

Wow Hello all.

For a recent birthday I was asked to make a card for a seahorse lover.

I used this Stamp which was a gift from Craft Stamper Magazine. I stamped it and applied embossing powder that was heat led to create a nice look. I also used glossy accents and glitter for the little horse.

I combined with embossed paper  and cardstock plus some bakers twine.

The sentiment stamped is from Unity Stamp Co.   I also added sequins for final touch.

Then I was later asked to quickly make a cake topper banner so I used same seahorse stamp and combined with other elements.

The sentiment Stamp in this case is also from Unity.

Hope you like these projects.

I will share with current Craft Stamper Mag challenge... anything goes.
