Mini Canvas by Scrapper Myra

Saludos.

More LOVE cards

Remember my LOVE card from yesterday?
Well I made other three following the same concept design.

I sprayed different combinations of color paint for background.

Hearts are hand cut in vellum... Different shapes and sizes... Crafty handy.
And they are also sprayed with colors.

Stamped sentiments and added sequins and cord. Love the modern artistic look they ended up with.

Here's the complete set.

Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by. You can also follow me in Facebook and Instagram.  Look for me as Scrapper Myra.

Bye.

Almost February

Almost February, and I'm already thinking of St. Valentine's Day.  I made a couple of  cards hand cutting hearts in vellum and spraying  some paint.

This is one of them. I stamped a sentiment and also used some cord and sequins to embellish.

Hope you liked it. I have some more to show you later. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.   And don't forget to celebrate love every day.

Love Tag

Hello my friends.  Just a quick stop to show you this tag.  I made it with scraps from other projects recently made.

Love theme is in my head since today is my 18th Wedding Anniversary and St Valentine's Day is coming soon.

The tag has texture with modeling paste, burlap, vellum, papers and more... plus a stamped "LOVE" word in the center.

Hope you like it... :)  I love my Love tag.

Mixed Media Canvas: Paris

Hello my friends...

A friend celebrated her birthday recently, and I made this for her.  I have it made since last week but didn't want to reveal until she received it to avoid her knowing before.  LOL

I started with gesso to prepare the surface of the canvas, and chose some papers to position in some designated spots.  I also included one to be as a guide for a photo I will use later.

I used gelatos and water to start bringing colors to the composition.  I made it on the top side and then turned it upside down to do the same.

I also added some more color with Prima color sprays, and prepared some modeling paste with acrylic paint to add texture.

I also used some glitter paste I recently bought... Love it.  And stamped some images and abstract forms, plus the main sentiment.

I continued blending colors and added the photo...

I also added wood embellishments, burlap, flowers, metals, pearls, and chipboard letters painted with distress stains, and even some rub-ons.

I love the final results.  I added a base in the back so the "artwork" can be displayed.

I really love the final result.  Do you?

I will share with Take It Make It Challenge in Craft Stamper magazine blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You - Double Layout

I had these photos from last Thanksgiving and wanted to make a layout.  I went for a two-page spread layout.

In the left I wanted to use just one photo to stand out, and in the right side I used multiple.

With the same paper I embellished the pages cutting the flowers from the design, and cutting circles and strips of papers.

This is the left page... this is my DH and me.

At the right side, I have this black and white photo of mom and me, and two photos of the food.

Here's how they look together.  Hope you like them.

You May Say I'm a Dreamer...

... But I'm not the only one!!!!

Oh Yes, I dream.   I dream of fantastic situations in which I have super powers and am able to make justice...  But I also dream of a better world, where nobody lacks food, love and health.   And I also dream about romantic stories and the pink love... just like any girl.  LOL.

I made this layout and chose to emphasize of love and being a dreamer, because I love this picture so much, that it inspires me.  I love that we look just like we are... posing but not being fake, with the wine glasses just like the moments we enjoy.

And I love to make my own embellishments, so for this layout I used lots of stamps and make some handcut hearts with cardstock and vellum, and sprayed with paint.

Love my layout... and yes, I'm a dreamer.

I plan to share this with Unity Stamp Co blog hop this week, so leave a message for a chance to win.  I will also share with Craft Stamper magazine friends in the Take It Make It Challenge of January... just for fun.

A card for a Strong Woman

Hello my beautiful friends.
Sharing today a card I made for a coworker friend who is unfortunately going through a tough time. We at the office are very positive she will win this fight and we are working on cheering her up and support her in any way possible.

The card is pink everywhere. After all this is about breast cancer and the color is recognized for this everywhere
I used a doily combined with patterned paper and Washi tape for background. And then stamped the image in white cardstock and embellished with baker's twine, more paper and sequins.

Hope you like it. And please pray for my friend and all fighting this disease.

Bye.

Hello 2016 with a first project!

Hello 2016!
Happy New Year everyone!
I've been busy with the longest Christmas in the world... Seriously, in Puerto Rico we celebrate Christmas season since November and until the end of January.  We have parties starting in November around Thanksgiving, then the whole month until Christmas, New Year's, Three Kings Day (honoring the 3 Wise Men), and then we celebrate a famous party a whole week honoring Saint Sebastian, in the street with its name in San Juan (Puerto Rico's capital).   So I've been from parties to family gathering, friends get togethers, and all kinds of celebrations all this time.  I'm serious.  We take partying seriously.
Anyway, this is one I just had a few hours to go around my scrapbooking room.  I spent a good part of that time just looking at the stuff, "organizing" and deciding what to make or create.  Just had an urge, you know? LOL.
I have several projects that still need to be finished.  I have these lots of pictures already placed in multi pocket pages with journaling and titles, and everything, but still some pages in the middle with photos I left to make whole pages. So I made one simple page from a trip to Spain 3 years ago.

It was a great trip.  We visited Barcelona, Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Madrid.  In Rioja we visited several wineries and had some great tours... you know I love wine.   This photo I chose for a layout is one took in the back side of  Marqués de Riscal hotel.  The winery with the name (also the wine has that name) has also a hotel.  We didn't stay at it (we stayed in another great hotel call Viura - viura is the name of a grape - ), but we had the tour and tasting of course.  It's beautiful.

I grabbed a white cardstock and made a cool background by spraying wine.  Well, not really, even though I've done it, but I used Prima Spray colors this time.  Then added patterned paper, half a doily and some more embellishments to arrange this page.

The title is a wood veneer form Heidi Swapp, and there's some washi from Tim Holtz, and cork, corrugated paper, sequins and more...

It's a simple page to stand out this great visit we had in Spain three years ago.  Hope you like my first page and project of 2016.  And thanks again for a wonderful 2015 to share this hobby we love.

Don't forget to follow Instagram and Facebook... Great things to come in this new beautiful year.

Have some wine... enjoy the rest of the weekend.  Bye!
