We continue in a lock down... But first... Let's make cards.

Hello beautiful people.

This pandemic year has taught us a lot... and one of the things is that we still have to take care of ourselves and don't feel "too comfortable".  We need to keep the distancing and wearing masks when in public.  We will be out of this being strong and together.

Meanwhile, we continue working and supporting others... and also we need to find the little breaks to free our minds on creativity and relaxation.

These are some cards I've made lately.  This one for a coworker.

This just for fun and to contribute to a challenge of slim cards.

This other one to use this beautiful stamp for the first time.  Love this Unicorn.

Mini cards with dfferent images.  Love them all.

And this one I made thinking on my own birthday...LOL!  The surprise was that my husband didn't know but he secretly looked in my stash to give me a card and he chose precisely this one.  Hmmm Maybe I have curly big hair and love wine....

Hope you are having a great year.  Let's stop talking about a bad year... Some people have been through worse in other years.  There's always something positive to see around.  Look for those things.

Since the Lock Down started...

Hello dear friends. I hope you are all fine and healthy.  We are living a historical pandemia and this is definitely something we will continue telling others for years to come, and remembering as a very special life event.

Well... In my beautiful Puerto Rico the lockdown and social restrictions started on March 16, 2020.  Since then, I hadn't posted anything in my blog.  It's no coincidence.  I really haven't dedicated much time to the hobby, but it's not that I haven't made any projects.  I have actually been working all the time and am one of the lucky ones to have a job.  I know the blog is not as "in" as it is social media (Facebook and Instagram), which are platforms that allow for more immediate sharing; but I'd like to continue "feeding" the blog so we have this one place to see all my creations and remember.  It's a top documenting tool and I am glad it is still available.

So I've made some projects during this time we have been in lock down and I just wanted to show some of them here... even though you have probably seen the in social media :).

This composition was made in a shadow box to remember one highlight event during a trip to Italy on 2018.  Love this visit to Guizzo, and really enjoyed the time with the family.  They gave me all the colors caps they have used so far, so I placed them along with the picture as a memorabilia tribute.

This card was made combining several stamps and I tried to show a girl blooming... I later gave to a coworker on her birthday.  She really is a blooming girl.

During this time, I also shared this page from a traveling journaling book.

I made this card with Covid theme... just for fun.

And for Mother's Day I made several cards with same CAS style, using embossing, stamps and watercoloring.

Another project I made during this time, was this page about me and my brother when we were little.  I don't remember my three years in New York but I sure treasure all the pictures.  Mom always said she we had a very hard time, and I wish I'd remember.

This is an ATC I made for a show and tell group and I later gave it to a coworker friend who loves Panda bears.  :)  She loved it.

This card was for another coworker leaving our company for another job.  We will miss her so.  This was very interesting because when I was making the card I was thinking... what are some of the things she likes so I can make a card she loves????   And I thought ... pizza... decorations... party planning... maybe makeup...  But then I thought to myself... Let's use these cute stamps with succulents... maybe she likes succulents.  Well, long story short... she loved succulents.  Voila!

Then I made this little project with some sparkling wines and champagne caps.  I still have a lot more of different colors... It just happened I used only a few of the gold and black ones for this project.  Tasting the stars was the first impression about champagne, from the man who discovered it... and I agree it is like tasting the stars.

Another card for a co-worker... I think I am making lots of cards for my coworkers..LOL!  This is a special one.  This girl loves elephants.  Her name is Patricia but we call her PatG to distinguish from another Pat... LOL!   She wasn't at the office on her birthday but we left the card in her desk and she discovered it like a week later... LOL!  She loved it.

This another card just for fun...   It kind of make me thing of all the strong girls and ladies I know... and since she's a mermaid I specially think about my niece. :)  She is a mermaid.

Another coworker's card...   This time my boss.  Made this card with these beautiful new stamps.  I love making it... love this wooden look, and the best part was the watercoloring and the fussy cut.

Finally, and enough for this long post...   This card I had made for a magazine that paused printing during this time of pandemic lock down.  The card was not actually chosen... I think it could have a good chance.  But the best part is that I really loved making it.  Giving wings to this girl was an awesome feeling... and the background with different inks and distressing...  really liked how it turned out.  Hope you like it too.

Thank you for stopping by.  If you like, leave a comment.  I would like to maintain this blog alive.   Help me a little if you want.  Hope you liked my projects, and found some inspiration.  Keep safe and follow the social distancing rules... They are for our own good.  Don't be stubborn... Be supportive.

See you in our next post.

Water along your Journey - ATC

I made this ATC recently with the theme of "water".
Around our life journey we will have to protect from different factors that can easily detour our focus if we are not ready.  We should listen to advice, we should learn from others, but we need to be careful not to forget our dream, our goals, our reason to be at a place or doing a job..  our own journey.

I think of it as the rain and having an umbrella.  It's ok to get wet sometimes, but you have to be careful and watch out for stronger showers... and always carry an umbrella.

I used distress inks for the background,  and stamped the image and sentiment.
Then I applied some modeling paste with a stencil and then reinforced color here and there with some mica powder and watercolors.

I finished up with some Mod Podge to protect the ATC :)

Hope you like it.

I will be sharing with my friends at Unity Stamp Co.  They are currently having a challenge at Unity Show & Tell Facebook page, and the theme is small stamps.

GROWING IN UNITY (GIU) DAY 1

Hello my friends.
I am so happy to be part of Growing in Unity this week!   I am officially a Growing in Unity Gal!  This is very special for me because of many reasons but I'll just give you five...

I love to create,
I love stamping,
I love Unity Stamps,
I love to share creations,
and
being part of GIU "makes" me take the time to create...

It is true.. with the whole bunch of stuff at work, family and life in general, sometimes I have to put my hobby in second... third... or just last place.  But this week I will share 5 creations using Unity Stamp Co.  You just need to stop by every day from Monday thru Friday this week (Sept 23 to 27, 2019) and comment about the posts.   At the end of the week I will be choosing 2 winners that will receive products from Unity Stamp Co.  Isn't that cool?  We share Unity, we give everybody else some love, and we win.

I will start this week with a card I made for Craft Stamper Magazine.  It features a beautiful Unity Stamp with sentiment... which I love because I am a true believer that imperfection is perfect.

I used watercolors to create a background in a plain cardstock.  I then cut a section in the middle using a die, and stamped the sentiment.  With black cardstock I created the eclipse effect positioning the center piece with dimensional adhesives.  I separately stamped, colored and cut the lady and carefully placed also with dimensional adhesives, finishing with some enamel dots.

I hope you like it and you could get some inspiration.  Don't forget to leave your comment and visit everyday, not only because it would make me happy, but because you'll have the opportunity to win goodies.  You can also visit in Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest under @Scrappper Myra.  Leave me comments there too and I'll pick up a third winner and will send some goodies too... just a few surprise items as a token of appreciation for following me this week.

Have a great week!

Cardinal Merry Christmas card

Hello my friends.  Here's another Christmas project to share with you.  For this card I used another project previously made as a tree ornament.  You can see it HERE.  I decided to take the ribbon out from original project and use it as an embellishment and central element of this card.

For the original embellishment I stamped an image and colored, and then used multiple layers of cardstock to create a nice dimension over double doilies.

Combined with ribbon, and patterned paper I assembled the final card... and I like it.

Merry Christmas.

Want to make some Cheese?

Today is a great day to relax, get some rest, think about your blessings and don't think about all the work that awaits you next week and all the things you have pending to do... Oh God... it's me.
Anyways, I wanted to make a simple layout today.  Didn't want to work with stamps and paint and inks and mixed media... just make a simple layout with papers, stickers, washi tapes and simple embellishments.  I wanted to work with photos today.

So I grabbed some old printed photos from a very large pack I have to make layouts... LOL... Will never do all of them... I realized I will have to put them in some traditional albums 'cause I'll never make so many layouts to use all the photos I print.

So I made a double page layout about a fun day three years ago... My DH and I went with our goddaughter, her father, and a couple of friends to visit a local cheese factory and make our own cheese...  It was so  much fun, and then we went to eat at a very nice place on a lake, and had fun together.  I enjoyed that day with my friends but specially enjoyed the time with this little girl.  She's so lovable and she gets excited about everything and enjoys life.  I love her personality. :)

I worked the pages so they belong together but can also work as single pages.

The left one shows only one photo of me and my goddaughter and says "Today is a good day".

The right page features multiple photos making a photo of my goddaughter the main focus.  Title says "To Make Cheese..."  (so it works as a continuation of left page title, but also alone is a phrase that works as a single title).

I used Amy TAngerine's papers from American Crafts, and letters from American Crafts as well, and from Basic Grey.  Some stickers are from Marbella by K, and the cool plaid chipboard cow is from Martha Stewart.  I also used sequins and washi tapes, doillies, and more.

I couldn't resist and I sprayed some color bloom from Prima Marketing in both pages just for my personal touch.  I tried I tried to make it simply with papers and photos, but I think I could make the challenge by using only that little touch of spray and without stamping at all.   That's amazing!  LOL.

This is how the pages look together.

Hope you liked them and got inspired.  Please leave me your comments if you wish, and don't forget you can follow me too on facebook and instagram as Scrapper Myra.

Happy Birthday Dreamer

Hello there!

Just sharing another birthday card made recently.  For this one, I went very CAS using sprays to add color to the background as the center of the design.

I used just two flags for a simple banner... and a great sentiment to complete this.   Also used double base on the card to add a layer.

Hope you like my card...   Don't forget to have a wonderful weekend my friends.  Be imperfect, dream, get inspired and create create and create.

Birthdays

Do you have any birthday coming up?   There's always some birthday to celebrate.  It's good to have birthday cards available to be ready when you need them.  But those are the ones I don't usually have... it's true.

I made this card just because... thinking of using it later.

I applied several different inks to the stamp to have a colourful image/message in a tag shaped piece of cardstock.    With different circles I made a frame for the tag and made a colorful birthday card.

Great way to use scraps you have around...  don't you ever trash your scraps.  LOL

Have a great rest of the week... We are just getting closer to the weekend.  :)  Thanks for stopping by.

I will share this with current Take it Make it challenge at Craft Stamper magazine (Anything Goes). You can see it clicking this link:   http://craftstamper.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/take-it-make-it-challenge-march.html?m=1

Easter Dog... Why Not?

Hello dear friends.

It is almost Easter... yess...  Just in a few weeks to celebrate new life and new beginnings...  Wait... that should be everyday... LOL.

I made this layout the other day.  This was Easter a couple of years ago.  My dog son enjoying his egg hunt to find cookies and treats.  Unfortunately we cannot give them so many nowadays... we have to be careful with his diet... But he will certainly enjoy this year's Easter somehow.  A picnic might be a good idea.. huh?  Let's see.

For this page, I used several patterned papers, stamps and embellishments.  Hand cut egg shapes and grass, plus handwriting for journaling to add a personal touch.

Hope you like it and this might inspires you for your own personal project.. :)

Eiffel Love card

Hello friends.

Here's a little card inspired by romantic Paris.  What a magnificent spectacle the Eiffel Tower is!!!  Those with the blessing or opportunity to had seen it should know that it is beautiful from all sides and it is the most visited monument in the world.

For the card I first spray painted and used a distressed card stock in the base. Then used modeling paste and a stencil to create a textured damask background.
The tower was stamped on vellum and the heart cut from a cork sheet.

Love the textured dimensional final result.  Hope you like it too.

Mini Canvas by Scrapper Myra

Saludos.

More LOVE cards

Remember my LOVE card from yesterday?
Well I made other three following the same concept design.

I sprayed different combinations of color paint for background.

Hearts are hand cut in vellum... Different shapes and sizes... Crafty handy.
And they are also sprayed with colors.

Stamped sentiments and added sequins and cord. Love the modern artistic look they ended up with.

Here's the complete set.

Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by. You can also follow me in Facebook and Instagram.  Look for me as Scrapper Myra.

Bye.

Almost February

Almost February, and I'm already thinking of St. Valentine's Day.  I made a couple of  cards hand cutting hearts in vellum and spraying  some paint.

This is one of them. I stamped a sentiment and also used some cord and sequins to embellish.

Hope you liked it. I have some more to show you later. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.   And don't forget to celebrate love every day.

Mixed Media Canvas: Paris

Hello my friends...

A friend celebrated her birthday recently, and I made this for her.  I have it made since last week but didn't want to reveal until she received it to avoid her knowing before.  LOL

I started with gesso to prepare the surface of the canvas, and chose some papers to position in some designated spots.  I also included one to be as a guide for a photo I will use later.

I used gelatos and water to start bringing colors to the composition.  I made it on the top side and then turned it upside down to do the same.

I also added some more color with Prima color sprays, and prepared some modeling paste with acrylic paint to add texture.

I also used some glitter paste I recently bought... Love it.  And stamped some images and abstract forms, plus the main sentiment.

I continued blending colors and added the photo...

I also added wood embellishments, burlap, flowers, metals, pearls, and chipboard letters painted with distress stains, and even some rub-ons.

I love the final results.  I added a base in the back so the "artwork" can be displayed.

I really love the final result.  Do you?

I will share with Take It Make It Challenge in Craft Stamper magazine blog.

Thanks for stopping by.
