A Red Unity Be Inspired Challenge...

Hey Friends... Having a good weekend?
I used to dislike Sundays... There was a time in our lives that these days were lonely.  We decided to reinvent them and now we look forward to Sundays and try to do something nice.  Most of the time we really cook a nice meal and pair it with wine at home, or simply share with families and friends.

This is a card I made to enter the current Unity Be Inspired Challenge.  Loved the color inspiration provided.  You can access it HERE.

This beautiful Ange Girl is called RED and I love her.  For this card, I wanted to keep her kind of abstract and mostly use the silver and red colors from the palette in the clothing.  Also... note how I heat embossed silver in her clothing and in some of the snowflakes...  Wish you could really see it.  Love the final effect.

I really love these Ange Girls from Unity Stamp Co.  I think I have enough of them now...  (Nah!)

Oh, I'm so thankful for your visit to my blog.  Don't forget to leave a comment.  These are very appreciated.  And perhaps you can win something with Unity.  I will link this post to next Friday Friends with Flair.  Every Friday the Unity community share work of the week and we all get great inspiration.  You participate by sharing your projects, and also by leaving comments.  :)

Fridays make me happy!

Wooo hooo!  It's that day of the week again! oh, my dear Friday... you have no idea the amount of happy you have brought to me.  Hey, that sounds like a sentiment stamp... hmmm!

To celebrate the first Friday of my month, I made this card with some new stamps I recently got from Unity Stamp Co.

What a cool feather, right?  She's unique and was colored with watercolor pencils.   I layered some pattern paper and inked edges all over with distress inks, water brush and some spritz.
Then embellished with baker's twine and sequins.

I'm linking this to Unity Be Inspired Challenge and to Friday Friends with Flair... so go ahead... leave a comment for a chance to win with Unity.

And.. thanks so much for all your comments and for all of you who follow me on Facebook  :)  I really appreciate it.

Unity Be Inspired Challenge :)

Every month there is a color/sketch challenge happening at Unity Stamp Co.  Current one features Halloween colors... Love this combination!

I also think these colors can be cool for a bright birthday card, so I decided to use the inspiration for a co-worker's birthday card so we can give it to him from the whole group.  His Bday is today but since he will be on vacation next week, we gave it to him last Friday.

I used both, the card sketch and the color combination for this card.  Simply arranged design paper strips on top of the card base - which by the way I chose that the base should be green 'cause it is his favorite color -  leaving space within.  Then framed the sentiment stamp and positioned with dimensional adhesives.  Also added a masculine touch with the wood mustache (yes, he has a mustache).

Hope you liked it.  I loved the result...  and I love that I will link it up to the Unity Be Inspired Challenge. :)

Unity Be Inspired Challenge

Hello my friends.

My dear husband will turn 4+3 soon and we will go out to celebrate with friends.

It is something simple and it has to be low budget, so guess what?  Creativity on!
The celebration will be held in a wine related place (of course!!!) so I wanted to make a cake topper with that theme.

I made this using Unity's Be Inspired challenge inspiration.  Not only the color challenge, but the card sketch, helped me with this.

I used several stamps from Unity.  The little bottles in the green cardstock, the numbers 4 and 3, the bottle and the wine glass...  This last one particularly was part of a stamp with a background but I cut it to use only the glass.   I poured (painted) some wine in the glass and added glossy accents.  Also painted and stained a little bit the white circle to add some unity to the whole piece.
For the banner, using the same stamped numbers as stencils, made some extra flags and used the same wood sticks to hang them.

In this next picture you can see I added sticks so I can place in the cake, and also to provide stability to the whole creation.

Here's the inspiration challenge information.  Click in the image... Still can participate yourself!

Tks for stopping by and for your comments.

Speaking about challenge!

Hello My Friends.

Hope your Friday is Full of Happiness!!!

First things first... I had a color challenge in my fan page and wanted to have some friends joining in just for fun but did not achieve quorum for the great giveaway.   It's ok.  It's the fun that counts.
However, I want to thank Anya Lynette from Maia Ink for her support.  She is a Unity Stamp lover just as I am, so I have this Unity candy for her... Yes, Anya... these are yours.  Tks for your participation in my challenge.

Well... and today I am sharing a card made with Unity stamps using the new Be Inspired Challenge colors.  Love the combination and I think I will be inspired even more with it in the near future.  But for now this card.

I used SMAK stamps and love how they look with the textured cardstock for perfect imperfection.  Added the green color with some sequins (Oh, I love sequins!) and some glitter.

Please leave a message for a chance to win with Unity 'cause I am linking this to Friday Friends with Flair.  Besides, I love to read your comments.  :)

A lot of photos!!!

 Hey there!

I made a two-page layout using lots of photos...  When I started in this hobby I used to place multiple photos in one page.  My style has changed and I don't use lots of photos very often.  But when you want to show a whole fun weekend in two pages, you have to accept the "multiple photo come back"!!! LOL.

For this weekend scrapped in these pages, we had 5 of our nephews/nieces at home without their parents.  Just them with us!!!  Oh... I just think of it and I'm tired again.  But I loved the experience and they sure had a blast.

I used the Unity Be Inspired Challenge for inspiration and chose the colors in it to add stamped words and accents through the pages without over embellish them so the photos can look great.

Tks for stopping by... and tks for your comments.

Be Inspired!

I swear I wanted to be out of the scrapbooking room today.  I was there all day yesterday finishing some committed work for publications and today I was supposed not to even look at that room.  But the Unity Stamp Co Be Inspired challenge has been talking to me...  A hobby can become addictive and we have to be careful to maintain the balance in our lives...  This is why I always follow my heart and do what I love... but also watch out... If this becomes stressful at some point without control, then it has finished its purpose as a hobby, which is relaxation and provide room for creativity.  Anyway, I decided to made a card for the challenge because I don't have any stress at all.  LOL!

I used this kit I have acquired recently but had not used it yet.  Eeeek... Have some stamps in that position right now.  I try to use them all at least once.. or twice...  There are stamps I use all over again and there are some I use once and that's it.  Does that happen to you?

The kit is called "pocket full of posies" and it is from Simple Stories edition with Unity.  I chose to follow the colors of the challenge. You can see them HERE.

I stamped the pocket in a jeans-like paper and cut it separately from the flowers.  THen I stamped the flowers in different colors and cut for paper piecing.  I also added glossy accents, glitter and pearls to some of the flowers for some touch.

Stamped the sentiment in vellum and arranged with ribbon, patterned paper and cardstocks.

Love the final results.  The good thing about challenges is that you end up using materials or color combinations you probably don't think of, either because of your preferences or style.  So the challenges stretch you to do different things.

Have a great Sunday.  Please leave your love in your messages... Love to read them.

:)

Age and glasses of wine!

First Friday of the year!  yeah!!!  I know it probably sounds repetitive 'cause a lot of people might be pointing it out, but it is cool anyway.  This is going to be a nice weekend.  I will be sharing some time with some nephews and nieces from my husband side.  It is going to be awesome!

Today is also Friends with Flair at Unity Stamp Co. so since I had this card I made for the Be Inspired Challenge, I decided to post it and link to both.  Love this stamp I recently got.  I made the card for a coworker/friend's bday which was last Monday.  This card made her smile.  :)

In the inspirational color photo I loved the textures so that is why I went with cork paper for the card.

I punched circles with matching colors and created an interesting background.

Also added baker's twine and 3D adhesives to create dimension.

The girl was colored with watercolor pencils.  Also used some glossy accents for the lips, rose and wine...  Knowing my friend, this would be a glass of a refreshing Albariño... LOL!

I hope you have a great weekend.  Leave a comment for a chance to win goodies from Unity Stamp Co. :)

Unity Be Inspired Challenge

Hello dear friends. Here I am sharing a card with you.  I've been trying to make as many cards as possible for the Holiday season... so everytime I have a chance, I am making something.

I love the Unity Stamp Co.'s Be inspired challenge. They provide sketches and a color combination for inspiration.  My favorite to go with is the color combo.  I love the challenge of using the given colors... I think otherwise it is not so likely you would use the exact combination of colors by yourself.

This is the challenge and if you click the image, you can go to the details and perhaps participate too.

Here's my card:

So I went for a New Year's theme card.

Love the colors together, and love to ink the edges to provide unity to the whole project.  Love the imperfection of the final result.
Hope you like it too.

This is the message stamped inside:

Thanks for stopping by.

What's this all about?

It's all about Loveeeee...

Love stamping, love scrapbooking, love to share this hobby that makes me so happy...  Love to create.

And love that today is FRIDAY!!!! yeah!!!!

I'm hoping you have a great fantastic weekend.

Made this card the same day I made this other one I shared with you in my last post HERE... and using the same color inspiration from Unity Be Inspired Challenge.  Don't blame me... they are very different cards.

I combined the sentiment with part of a journaling card to create the whole message.

I used cork as background in the framed stamped image to provide some texture.  Love the effect of the cork (same as burlap... love it).

Have a great day... don't forget it is all about LOVE.  Leave a comment for a chance to win since I am going to link this to Friday's Friends with Flair at Unity.

May Peace be with you!

What about a Christmas card in the middle of the week?  Yeah! It's always a good time to get creative.

I've got some new stamps recently and am putting them at work.  I love this angel girl stamp from Unity Stamp Co.

I wanted to color her softly with some sort of out of the ordinary colors for an angel.  I got inspired from the Unity Be Inspired challenge... again!!!  I mixed watercolor pencils with copics... I bet the experts would say that shouldn't be done but you know how imperfect I love to be!!!

I used embossing folders to create the embossed hearts background in the cream/gold paper.  Also some Prima flowers and washi tape, cardstock, ink and of course... love!

May peace be with you friends.  Love your messages... yeah, those ones you are going to leave me now.  :)

More of the "Be Inspired" Challenge...

Just a quick stop to share a CAS card I impulsively made tonight...  This hobby is really relaxing for me and sometimes, even though I'm tired, I'm in the need of creating.  So, I went "to bed" but deviated before arriving to my room and stopped by in my hobby room and had to make this card.

It had to be quick and special so I got inspired by the card sketch from the Unity BE Inspired challenge.  I already posted a card using the color combo inspiration HERE, but for this one I used the sketch.

I stamped the big snowflake and used silver embossing powder to make it shine.

Applied several washi and decorative tapes (AC and Martha Stewart's) and stamped the sentiment as well.  Both the snowflake and the sentiment are stamps from Unity Stamp Co.

I really like the simplicity of the card and how delicate and beautiful it looks at the same time.

I will link this one to Unity Stamp Co. (Be Inspired Challenge) too...

Hope you have a special, unique and beautiful second half of the week!!!...  Make this Thursday a Pre-weekend awesome day!...  Tks for your comments.
