Willow Sketchie Challenge

Hey... how's it going in 2013?  So far, so good?  Good for me...  healthy enough, got a job, a lovely husband, small but beloved family, a dog's love...  and scrapbooking friends... yeah!

A scrapbooker friend invited me to participate in a sketch challenge.  She designed the sketch!!!  She's very talented and is guest in so many blogs and activities...

Her name is Sonia and you can visit her blog HERE.

This is the sketch she created for Willow Sketchie Challenge:

So, we celebrated a local Holiday in Puerto Rico yesterday, it's the Three Kings' Day (to honor the 3 Wise Men who visited baby Jesus).  My husband and I agreed not to exchange presents since we will buy something for the house that will be a present for both... but we always get a little something from each other.  He gave me a new paper trimmer (which is very sophisticated and I will have to learn how to use) and I got him some sandals.

I used Sonia's sketch to make this card for him:

Pure pattern paper with card-stock and stamps, colored with watercolor pencils.

I placed it in front of a plain gift bag for a different approach.

He liked it a lot...  Hope you do too.  Tks for stopping by.  Enjoy TODAY.

A card with deep meaning!

Happy Sunday...

In the middle of the weekend since tomorrow is a Holiday!

I wanted to share this card I made a couple of weeks ago.

It was the card a friend would give to his girlfriend when asking her to be his official girlfriend... got it?

So, he's very special and has attention to details for her.  They've been through a lot to make this happen, so he was going to give her some special presents for several days (one daily) and then at the end of the week, give her this card and ask her.

One of the days, he gave her a certificate of a named star to honor her, so that's why I included a little chipboard star that says "for you".

He also gave her flowers one of the days, so I added this paper pieced one.

Other day he gave her a section of a song he wrote, so the background is music symbols and also included the music symbol in crunchboard material.  Other day he gave her coupons valid for free hugs, kisses, this and that... so I included a coupon that you can flip and have different sentiments.

He told me she liked purple and yellow colors so I added some of that without conflicting with the music background paper I had... and also added a border at left in a different color to make the card more interesting.

So here's the whole card with the coupon flipped so you can see both versions.

Hope you liked it!  Thanks for stopping by here.  I love it when you do that!

A Card with a Sketch

 Hey there!

Mother's Day is coming and I haven't done any cards or thought about any gifts... OMG!  This is what I've said to myself all these days when arriving home from work!

So, today, I decided to at least cut some papers to feed the need for the hobby!!!

I'm not very used to sketches, but I saw this one from Scrapping Everyday Miracles and I thought I could use it for a card.  You can see the sketch I'm talking about HERE.

And this is the card...

I used patterned papers from DCWV and chipboard letters from EK Success.  I distressed the circle background and inked with Color Box ink.

The flowers are from Portafolia and the pearls from "e."brand.

The sentiment stamp is from a "Spanish Memories".

I think it's kind of cool I used the sketch for a card instead of a Layout.   You know I love to be imperfect!!!   I usually don't use sketches because I don't usually follow the rules (at least when talking about scrapbooking), but I've found great inspirations on them lately.

Let me share some other quick cards I also made tonight before I'm gone to bed...

This is the inside of the card:

Have a good night, day, and rest of the week.  Don't forget to leave me your comment.

Being an Airhead

A lot of work... a lot of stress... I need to dedicate time to scrapbooking... I'm so in need to relax... I always say we need to get time sometimes just to be an airhead. Do nothing... Just enjoying being alive and resting... Of course you cannot get too used to it because then you become another thing... lazy! But sometimes... just sometimes... do nothing.

However, I don't have time for that right now... :( I have been very busy lately and have not being able to dedicate some time to the hobby...

So, I decided to share with you this card I made a while ago and I hadn't shown. It was made for a friend moving to the States.

I used pink tones because she's very girly and delicate. Patterned paper is from scraps I had from a very old collection called Penelope... Do you remember it...? it was gorgeous!

I also embossed the pink cardstock with the Cuttlebug machine, and border punched the blue cardstock with Martha Stweart punch.

The sentiment if from a stamp I've used before and am sure you've seen it... it's from Unity Stamp Co!

I tied a big eyelet with a brad and ribbon to embellish the card. The big eyelet is pink and has what you can think is either flowers or kind of resemble snowflakes... The girl was moving to a cold place so I thought this might me interesting to use.

I used patterned paper and also ribbon tape.... I love it! Ribbon tape can be attached perfectly and it looks very nice.

I also added some punched flowers in the inside for continuity of the theme.

I also inked some edges with Colorbox ink. Hope you liked it...

And I also hope you are having time for your hobby... Even if you don't have a hobby, you need time to relax, do quite nothing... and be an airhead...
