Strong Woman

Hello all. 

I have  a significant beautiful young lady  in the family going through tough times.  She's a gorgeous young woman but she's also very strong. I have no doubt she will get through this and will be stronger everyday. 

Inspired in current Mixed Media Place challenge I made this special project thinking of her.  It all started with a wood frame that I painted with spray and other media.  I then added symbols to remind us all great characteristics of women in general. 

The feathers (one is stamped), reminds of how delicate a touch of a woman can be, while the bricks made with modeling paste and acrylic paint  in the composition (background and edges), along with the chain, represent the strength.  

The pearls over the girl stamped image and the big pearl with the cameo in the lower left side, represent the feminism; the girly side!  But they are over painted burlap because a girl can be rough when she wants. 

The flower represents how fragile a woman can sometimes be and the transparent circle is about life cycle and how things just go around one after another. Such is life. 

The  plaque provides for that "hope" most of the time gives us the power to continue fighting over adversities. 

The sequins are a symbol of how a woman shall always shine in everything she wants to accomplish and how she stands out. 

Finally, the sentiment itself, stamped in delicate vellum, speaks for itself.
