Calentando Motores con Latina Crafter!

Hola a todas... Cómo les va el 2015?
Pues yo ya he ido a varias actividades, he hecho alguito de Scrapbooking y hasta he emprendido nuevas cosas...

Felicidades.

Let's continue talking about LOVE...

It's Sunday...  almost finished with all details regarding my class in the convention.  Just waiting for some things by mail.. hope they get here on time!!!   There's still space to be in the class, you can get information in the button at upper right in this blog, or sending me an email to winecheeseandscrapbooking@gmail.com, or like me on facebook (Scrapper Myra) and contact me through inbox.  :)

Separately,  let me share these LOVE party favors.  These are very simple to do, specially to make with kids since the steps to follow are very easy and you embellish as you want.

Some of these were published in the Papeles y Más magazine.

Let's take a look at them one by one.

Here's one with the "key 2 my heart" sentiment.  I stamped the key, cut and tied with bakers twine.  Used mainly cardstock, stickers and stamps.  Candies are placed inside as shown.

Here's the front view:

This one was so fun to make.  Stamped the images and colored with paint, ink, pencils, glitter... and more.  Added some buttons and sticker at bottom.  Very cool.

This is my favorite.  Stamped banners and cut them to assemble with doily, buttons, bakers twine and a feather.  Lovely, isn't it?

And, last but not least, I took advantage of the patterned paper design and just added the sentiment, doily and ribbon for this one.

Hope you are still enjoying St. Valentine's Weekend.  I am...

It's all about love....  love... love....

I am a published scrapbooker!

Happy Friday!

Remember I told you about the Papeles y Más magazine?  HERE is the post about it.  And today I will share one project I exclusively made for this magazine and was already published in last issue.

It was a party favor I hand-made and embellished with the Halloween theme.  You can find the list of materials and instructions in the magazine.

The main image... this cute witch, is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co.  I love it!

Tks for stopping by.

End of ASL

Oh yes, I know... I've been so out of track these days...  Between work, and the ASL (American Sign Language) class, I've had to park for a while my favorite hobby... because I am only human.

And speaking about the ASL class... I was supposed to end the basic course today... We received a call yesterday because the University employees were going to work on some air conditioning fixing in the classrooms so the last class was postponed for April 6.  We cannot make it for April 6, so we called the professor to see if he was ok to meet in other place...or any other date.  We are just 9 students and we thought everybody was happy to end this soon...  My husband and I have worked so hard these six weeks... not because this is something we need or  will live from, but because we take it seriously.  And last week we studied everyday and practiced for the final work (3 to 5 minutes signing about a topic)...

But I guess I still don't get it... I have to understand that not everybody is in the same page.  Most students we called were just so happy because the class was canceled!  LOL... and the  professor just... was... there...  So, I got frustrated a little bit but then thought it was ok...   But one important thing... The professor said we (hubby and me) don't necessarily have to go to that class if we can't because we definitely passed!  :)

I prepared some party favors for the students.  Since my final work was about scrapbooking hobby, I planned to finalize my signing by inviting them to identify their names on these...

Each party favor has a name in ASL.  That was going to be fun... I know.
We plan to give the professor a video with our final work and also these gifts so he can distribute to the students.

I embossed several goodie bags and embellished with similar elements, but ensuring each one is different and personalized.  The name is in ASL alphabet.

Here they are...

Ana

Keren

Tania

Wined

Yoliannie

Mildred

José
Carmen

But this is not all...
I had a surprise for my husband with a special little bag for him... LOL...  Now, I will have to give it to him... but I will validate if he's reading my posts and will wait until he asks me for this party favor...

John

Tks for stopping by and please keep enjoying this imperfect life...  it's wonderful, isn't it?

Dog Christmas, and Fabulous Party Favors

Hey... Happy New Year... Hope you are having a wonderful 2012 so far...

Today we celebrate "Three Kings Day" locally... So we are still celebrating. Some say we have the longest Christmas Holidays in Puerto Rico because we start in Thanksgiving, continue in Xmas Eve and Day, then New Year's Eve and Day, then Three Kings Day and another 8 days of party, which historically also include San Juan Capital activities called "San Sebastian Street Parties"... so there still some activity here...

Anyway, I made some party favors for our Vet... I know I know! Some people look for some detail to give their children's teachers, but in our case my husband asked me to do something for our dog's vet and helpers in the office...

So I made some with typical Puerto Rican candies... Here are some pictures:

Then, a friend was going to turn 40 and decided to celebrate... so I told her I was going to support her with some party favors...

This was the theme of the bday decoration and the inspiration...

I decided to make three different kinds so she had variety, and was free to add random details to some of them, so even though they are the same type, they look different and unique somehow.

One of the designs was this concept of the little baskets...

And these other types which are like cups but bent for some nice shape...

For the third kind, I used some pre cut boxes that I assembled and decorated:

Here's a photo of the three:

Each one had a Ferrero chocolate truffle my friend provided, and I added a little note.

But then... where to display them?

I had an idea.... A friend gave me three cake plates I could use for different levels, but how to connect them?

I thought of these nice ribbons I had in these:

I cut some cardstock strips with same colors of the bday decoration theme.

And decorated the rolls...

I then attached with hot glue and created this display (very similar to the ones used for cupcakes)...

Here's how the party favors looked at the party:

And look at the fabulous and delicious cake another friend made:

Finally, I had a gift card for the bday girl, but wanted to present it differently:

So I cut a strip of cardstock and bent for different sections and this is what I came up with:

Isn't it nice?

The sad part... look how my Scrapbooking table ended up ... what a mess... LOL!

Thanks for stopping by... your comments are really appreciated...

Oh, The Turkey!

Are you still eating turkey leftovers? I bet some families are... if the turkey was too big for the quantity of people, turkey sandwiches are going to last for about 3 to 4 days...hahahaha...

I made this little party favors for the kids at Thanksgiving... very simple and friendly to assemble and share...

I used 3" scalloped circle punch, 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" circles, and scalloped oval.

... Folded the big one in half, slightly to the edge so you can still see both. I inked them to notice better.

Placed the oval in front, leaving about the same space from edge to edge...

Placed the biggest circle and added an upside down heart. I cut mine from the same scalloped oval and shaped but any other regular upside down heart will do.

I attached to the pops...

... and placed another big scalloped circle in the back for support...

Assemble a face in the small circle (just two eyes and a triangle), and place right over the upside down heart like this:

Tadda!!!! Funny lollypops for kids...

I also made another turkey party favor using 3"x 9" strips of patterned paper..., which I scored at 3 3/4", 4 1/2" and 8 3/4".

I used the turkey image from Stretch Your Imagination cricut cartridge...

The 3" scalloped circle is used again... I cut in half and stamped the sentiment...

Then on the inside of the strip already cut and scored, I placed glue strip on both edges...

In the single edge I placed the candy...

On the other side I also put glue in the flap inside and closed...

Once closed I inked the edges...

... positioned the message on top, and made two holes...

... to tie a ribbon...

Little turkeys were placed at front of party favor...

And these are the final results:

Thank you for your visit and I appreciate your comments... Take care.
