A Thank You Tag!

Hello friends.  How are you?

I just stopped by to show a little tag I made for my neighbor friend.  I want to thank her for a nice gesture she made for us in relation to a medicine we needed for our dog-son.  The details of the favor she made us is not important, but it is the fact that she said we can count on her always.  Her disposition to help was tremendous and she was very kind.

And, this is not a big deal, but since what she did was related to our dog, I made her this tag just for fun and to reinforce how grateful we are for what she did.

I used the Cricut machine to cut the doggie and added some crazy eyes.  I embellished with doily, patterned papers, stickers, fiber, and more.  I also used ink, glossy accents and jewels.  I used two stamps... the "heart" is from a Unity Stamp Co. called "you+me=happy", and the "thank you" sentiment is from TAC.  The banner is imperfectly hand cut and it was completely on purpose.  I wanted the tag to look crafty.  She will know this was specially made for her.  It even got her name!

I am not sure if she would use this for anything, or just hang it in some place, but when I made it, I concentrated on how sweet she is and how she helped us.

Hope you like it.

Continue having a great weekend you all!!!!!

What's up?

What's up?  How are you?  How've you been?
For me, this has been another week of craziness, but I could not let go one week without at least saying  hi.  So...  Hi!

Let me tell you about my life lately.

Besides my busy life at work, I decided to take sign language classes on Saturdays!  It's been so cool... but more difficult than I thought.  Not only because learning this language is not easy, but also because it requires a lot of practice...  Unfortunately, I've felt very stressed these last couple of weeks because I don't find much time to study/practice... So that's why scrapbooking has been sacrificed a bit lately :(.  My husband says I am taking it too seriously and I have to relax because this is supposed to be for recreation... The sign language interest is kind of a bucket list thing.  It's something I've always been attracted to, so has my husband, and we found the right moment now... so we are doing it just for fun... and hopefully is something we could use to help others in the future.  The basic course is for 6 weeks so I will be pushing myself to balance some time for everything... because I need to, or I will lose my mind... LOL

Another thing I wanted to share is that we had our first Scrapbooking Convention in Puerto Rico last Sunday.  We have had another huge yearly activity that one store sponsors and Scrapbooking celebrities provide classes and so, but this one was sponsored by a local magazine and grouped all the local Scrapbooking stores in one and only event.  I have to say I really had fun.  It was a great activity and very good for the hobby industry since we got to know stores we don't usually visit.  Exposure was good. Kuddos to "Papeles y Más" magazine.

Finally, a card to share.  I combined patterned paper, stamps, borders, ink and love... LOL

For the flowers stamp (Unity) I used ink but also some paper piecing in the wood fence.  Hope you can appreciate it in the photo and hope you like it.

Tell me about your week... or about something new you've been involved with or doing lately.

Tks for stopping by.

Thank You

Hello my friends.  I had a THANK YOU post scheduled for National Scrapbooking Day last Saturday, and it seems to had lost the text...   Well, the intention is what really counts sometimes, don't you think?

I wasn't able to fix it until now since I was all week taking care of my mom at the hospital.  She was hospitalized for asthmatic bronchitis and it was first time ever she needed to stay at a hospital... so it was kind of tough for everyone... but she's already fine and at home.  So I apologize if you received a post update with the title Thank You, and nothing in it... :)

I wanted to thank you for all your visits, valuable comments, your solidarity, and the wonderful way we share this hobby, respecting everybody's styles and different talents.

And speaking about thank you, let me show you this card I recently made for someone who wanted to say thanks to a sister...

I used several sizes of spellbinders to create layered frame for the sentiment from Stampin' Up which says "Sincerely Thanks" in Spanish.

Dollies provides such a nice feminine touch to the projects that I continue using them when I need to emphasize on that.  The person told me the recipient of the card is very girly.

So, the flowers, the raffia, punched borders and nice flowered background also add to the femininity intention of the card, without over decorating it and keeping the simple message of gratitude.

Hope you liked my card... and again... THANK YOU!!!

Thank You.... and a tag!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Don't forget to thank God for the little things... those who might pass without notice... like being able to see, walk, and smell... Thank you God for the wind... when I feel it I know I am alive... and it's cool in this tropic too.... And how we are able to express our feelings... we can talk, touch and just listen... Not only thanks for the materials things, which we appreciate a lot, but also for the emotional things that only each one of us feel inside...

So cool...

And I made this tag for a SWAP with the Thank You and Thanksgiving theme... and wanted to share how it was made...

I used some of the patterned paper from a free digital kit (Fall Digital Kit by Summer Driggs). Remember to always be true using these free kits from internet only for personal use.

So I printed some of the images and cut strips of about 1" x 9"...

I scored on each 1/4" to be able to have this fan effect...

Then glued at the ends...

When dried, assembled to simulate the flower and...

... attached to a cardstock circle as base...

I placed a button in the center and placed the flower in another shape behind to create layers.

I also stamped the words "Thank You" in a strip, which I scored to stand out the message... and added some bling bling...

The tag shape was cut from a cricut cartridge... and the leaves were stamped in patterned paper and then cut to add some interest and finish the illusion of the "flower".

I used more of the digital patterned paper to add a nice border at the bottom.

I hope you liked my tags... and I specially hope the SWAP gals could find use for them... I can see them in a layout about being thankful... or about a person you thank God for... or maybe use it with a gift for someone you like as a token of appreciation...

(cardstock: Bazzill, AC; stamps: Martha Stweart, Inkadinkado; patterned papers: Basic Grey, Summer Driggs; ink: Color Box; bling: Reflections; others: Calligraphy Collection cricut cartridge, Scotch adhesives, Spellbinders, Cuttlebug, buttons)
