Merry Christmas ...  Another Card

So I have to keep on making some Christmas cards whenever I can so I don't let it for the last minute. 

I made this one using the heat embossing technique for the snowflakes stamped in white over vellum. Loved the effect. 

The vellum was then glued to cardstock and to colored burlap. 

Sentiment was also stamped over vellum and three final touch was achieved with the sequins and bakers twine.

Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday to you all!  Hope you have a great week. 

Today I am sharing a CAS card with bright colors.   Using nice patterned paper as background can help a lot to bring life to a cute simple card. This design of bright flowers is awesome. 

The image is stamped and colored in a simple way too. 

The sentiment is stamped in vellum for a delicate touch. 

This one goes for my stash... let's see who's next on having a birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Cake Topper Banner

Some girls at work asked me for a cake topper with a Happy Birthday banner.  I loved making it and personalizing it an it so it could be even more special. 

For the banner itself I started with some pre made banner flags. If i didn't have these I would had cut them by hand or with the Cricut machine.  I've seen cutting punches with the banner shape too. 

I circle punched  cardstock and vellum to add dimension and layers to the flags and used AC's tickles letters. 

For the embellishments on the sides I also used punches. For the quote clouds I used Latina Crafter 's dies and stamps. The message in Spanish is also from LC. The name "Janet" was stamped with Inkadinkado stamps. 

I made the holes in the flags with my CropAdile and used baker's twine to assemble all with brochetas sticks. 

I liked the final result a lot and the girls also did. This is a photo showing how they finally placed it at he cake. 

Hope you like it and get inspired.  Making this made me think of so many other ways to make cake toppers. I'm sure will make a lot more in the future.

A Happy Card

This is a CAS card I made for my husband for a special day we recently celebrated. 

I assembled the emojis cut with spellbinders.  So cool. 

I stamped the sentiment which I love and then masked it to ink the rest of the background using a sponge dauber.  

The amount of happy these emojis bring to this card is amazing. LOL. Hope you like it.

Card with pieces of patterned paper...

We recently celebrated a special day in the family dedicated to three of us who don't have any children.   To celebrate we went to a restaurant located in what we call "country" referring to the center of the island outside the metro area. Unfortunately, not all family members could be with us but we celebrated anyway because this day is very important for us and the day is established to be the third Saturday of August. 

This card was made specially for my sister in law.  I used several pieces of patterned paper and put together instead of using perfectly coordinated colors, so I can support the message about no needing to be perfect to be awesome. 

I love the sentiment, by the way... I always say I love the perfect imperfection.   Love to be imperfect!

The stamped image was colored with watercolor pencils.   I also used some sequins to add some bling. 

My sister in law loved it. Hope you like it too.

Playing AGAIN with Watercolors...

I recently made these party favors for a family event. 

They are very simple in terms of design on how to display the treats but I wanted to make each of them unique instead of all of the same. 

That's why I used watercolor paint to make mini works of abstract art. 

I mixed colors and traced forms and then used a heated gun to make the colors travel in the card and dry to a great texture and design. 

Inside there are mini cinnamon sugar cookies. Yummy!

Playing with Watercolors...

I love using paints in my projects. Either it is spray paints, acrylic, gelatos or watercolors... the mere fact of getting my marks in my fingers and hands make me feel I am creating.  Well, i really try to avoid excessive mess but it is what it is. LOL 

For watercolored projects specifically I've worked with pencils and paint itself. I love the effects that can be created with those. 

This card is a CAS style technique one, using watercolor paints for the mixed colors in the background. 

The stamped image in the center is also colored with watercolor pencils but the real center of attention for me is the background/frame. 

Hope you like it.  I even thing this girl is me. The hair... the wine glass... definitely me. LOL. 

I recently made another cool project using watercolor paint for some party favors. Will share with you in another post in the near future.
