Tarjeta de Niño - LC

Happy Thursday!
This post will be in Spanish to honor Latina Crafter...  Remember you can always read my posts in your language, using the translator in my blog at left.

Hola a todas.

Another Unity Be Inspired...

Hello my friends...

I am posting today my contribution to the Unity Be Inspired challenge from #Unity Stamp Co.

And notice I said my "contribution" and not only an "entry". It is both. I love when I am able to participate in challenges and contest. They get us inspired, and make us be active in this great hobby. You also get to see other interpretations of the same inspiration, from people around the world who also loves what you love.  I confirm everyday how subjective art and scrapbooking are, and I love that fact.  So, for me, more than an entry in a contest/challenge, it is also a contribution to keep the hobby alive. And it is a support for the brands I love, and the contest/activity they are promoting... So they can keep doing it.

This is the inspiration combo this month. Great colors and sketches.

I immediately got captured by the colors, that sunset, and the way you can see different colors in line and mixed at the same time.
I wanted to make a similar arrangenent of colors but also wanted to soften them.

So I stamped the main image and covered with a mask. Then painted my colors with pencils.

Carefully I blended with water brush protecting the image and mask.

When finished I took out the mask and covered with vellum to soften the colors look.
The sentiment was stamped on the vellum.  Love that sentiment because it is not only the pure thruth but it goes perfectly with the effect I was trying to achieve. Behind the vellum is the true beauty and there is a butterfly.

Same thing with people. Beauty inside is the one who reflects the real person.

Hope you like my card. Comments are always welcome.

For the Bride

Happy hello to you my friends.

Today is a Holiday in Puerto Rico... and it is one of the few I have the day off...

And today is the wedding of a special friend.  We used to work together and she always was a great and sweet girl...  a good person... who had gone thru a lot...  and those "thru a lot" in our lives make us stronger.

She moved to Miami a few years ago and started to build a different life... We are now so happy to know she's getting married and that she's happy.

Since we are in the mood of wedding... I thought it was appropriate to share this little envelope I made for the Papeles y Más magazine.  It was published in the recent edition of June-July.

I stamped the image (from Unity Stamp Co.) in vellum, and then cut.

Added pearls for a delicate touch and adhered to the embossed envelope.

Then finished with a sentiment also stamped in vellum and framed with card-stock and a ribbon bow.

The idea was to create a delicate, CAS, but full of feminine details project.  I think I made it.

Have a great fabulous super Friday!

A card for Danny...

Hello friends.

Sometimes a simple card can be such a great detail.   It can bring happiness, memories, make you feel you are not alone... And more.  They can be fun too.

A friend shared these news in facebook, about a little boy having a tumor, and wanting to receive lots of cards for his birthday coming up real soon.

He will be 6 in a few days and I thought it could be fun to send him a card.  His family is actually asking people to do so.

So I managed to be up earlier this morning to make him a card. I used different design papers, buttons, chipboard elements, bakers twine and stamps.

I sent the card by mail today and I am hoping to later find out the he received a lot of cards as expected.

Curtain Call Challenge - Anything Goes

I discover Curtain Call very recently tks to Unity Stamp Co.  Love their inspirational colors and images... And love the projects shared from other followers.

Here is the latest challenge on.

They are celebrating their first year. You can get more information here:

http://curtaincallchallenge.blogspot.com/?m=1

And here is my take on this challenge. Love the subtle colors in the inspirational image and thought immediately of this new stamps kit i've got from Unity.

I colored the image with watercolor pencils and cut.  The base was sprayed with color and embellished with sequins. Oh I love sequins.

Hope you liked my card. Any comments to make my day?

Sketch It

Hello my friends...  Hope you are having a great weekend.
Let's go "latina"again...

(To read this in English or any other language, use the blog translator at left.)

BTS Media Mixed Clipboard

Friday Friends... Hello to you!

Another Friday Friends with Flair at Unity Stamp Co...  I love these days.  You can get inspired by other friends's creations, you leave comments to them, you get visits from them and comments as well... It's like a party!  Tks Unity!

In Puerto Rico, Back to School period is early August.  At this date, people have already made all shopping or are in the process of planning to go... as we "speak"...  So it's the topic of the moment.

In the last edition of Papeles y Más magazine, there was a special homework for some of us... it was to embellish a clipboard with the BTS theme.  Oh, I loved to make this.

From day one, I knew I defintely wanted to mix media and stamps, cut, get my hands painted...LOL

So I started with a base of white paint...

... which I then reinforced with paper and modge podge...

... washi tapes in the edges... and continued building layers...

... a teacher needed to be here...

...and the rest is history...

Paint, stamps, rub-ons, washi tapes, flowers, inking, paper piecing...   It was so fun!!!!

I tried to keep all elements as flat as possible because I am thinking this to be functional.   With a finish layer of modge podge you can place papers here with no problem to be "damaging" the project.  But if you want to make a similar one just for decoration, or as a special gift to your kids' teacher, this is a great way to show your appreciation.  You could add 3D elements to it if you do not intend to use it as a traditional clipboard.

Hope you liked it...  I'm linking this to Unity's Friday Friends with Flair.  Leave a comment and tell me if you liked this project... for an opportunity to win.

Latina Crafter

Holaaaaaa.

(Si no has leído la entrevista, puedes accederla aquí:   http://latinacrafter.blogspot.com/2014/07/entrevista-de-latina-crafter-para.html?m=1).

O no?

Estoy profundamente agradecida, Diana.

This Day... layout

HOLA!

It's Friday again and it's special...it always is.  There's always a reason to find a day special, don't you think?  We, as imperfect humans, usually notice very easily when something goes wrong or just unexpected...  but the truth is that there's always a good thing around all our happenings... and everything happens for a reason.  Believe me, if I don't remind myself about this everyday, I would be a different person.

So, I want to show you a layout I made about a weekend at a beach resort a year ago.  This project was published in the June-July edition of the magazine "Papeles y Más".  I used Unity Stamp Co stamps, combined with Teresa Collins papers and elements.

This stay was very special.  We were with our goddaughter and her dad, and we could bring our dogson with us to this place.  We love this place because of that.
I wanted to create a page that denotes this is a good memory so the use of black and white photo with all the wood, and brownish elements, gave me that.

I combined clusters of elements and balanced the page by assembling them diagonally, with the photo in the center.   I love how the stamps went perfectly with the pre-made elements and they seem to be part of a same kit.

Hope you like my page.  Go get your magazine if you haven't.  It is full of great ideas and there are a few publications from Scrapper Myra... :)
Also, let me remind you that you may follow me in facebook HERE.  Just for fun... to share our imperfect world and great hobby...

Remember to leave a comment in this post to be part of the Unity Friday Friends with Flair and have the opportunity to win fabulous high quality stamps.
Have a great weekend.

You are Wonderful - card

Happy 4th of July!!!!  Today is a good day to finish your scrapbooking projects (I am talking to myself here...). LOL. The thruth is this day is usually dedicated to BBQ's, Am I right?  That is not going to happen for me 'cause my DH does not like to do it. I know it is weird but nobody is perfect. In that case, scrapbooking would do it. And after another crazy week, a Friday off is great!!!!

For today's Friends with Flair, I am sharing this card.

Used layers of gold and pink, with sequins and this beautiful Prima flower.

Stamps are from Unity Stamp Co. ... Of course!

Tks for stopping by.  Have a great long weekend.
