This might be your last chance...

How many times have you heard this sentence/warning? This might be your last chance. Was it? Is it? You don't know... but ... Live the moment...

If you think about something to do for someone, something to say, a decision to make... and then suddenly another thought cross your mind blocking that first thought... what is happening? Re think. Maybe you have doubts or fears... but if you thought about it, it's because is possible or necessary.

Thought about that person and calling him/her to say hello...? but then decided to do it later... you know what?... this might be your last chance.

Thinking about studying again, retaking your goals, do something you have postponed... but then your children, your job, your responsabilities come to your mind... this might be your last chance.

Suddenly you feel it's time to lose some weight, or change habits in your life, or maybe just start to dedicate more time to something you have had in mind and you enjoy ... this might be your last chance.

Say I love you...
Help that someone...
Re think your status...
Change...
This might be your last chance...

And... finally... click HERE and participate. This might be your last chance too.

Have a good weekend you all.

Say Good Bye to Kinder...

Do you remember your kindergarden experience? Did you even go to kinder grade? I didn't. Some time back kinder was not mandatory and it didn't even exist in some public schools. But I do remember those first years of school and how important was to have friends. Some have become part of our adult lives, but some have become only a memory. I wish I had photos of all of them, or something that can remind me of those moments... wow! How easy we forget things sometimes.

This is my god daughter and her friend, who is also my little neighbor friend. They know each other since they were only months old. Sometimes I think it was obvious they would become BFF because they were together all the time and we all encouraged that friendship. However, at times this thought crossed through my mind: What if they don't get along? That could happen!!!

But they have become good friends... and they do have other friends by themselves but the special friendship that they have created, it's just unique. Their moms and us, unconsciously try to make them "more friends" but you know what? That's not necessary.

My god daughter had her Kinder Graduation this year. I wanted to do a layout about it but wanted to include multiple photos in just one page. I cropped some of them with her friends, with her best friend and with the little boy who walked with her down the aisle to the stage... (that sounded like a wedding, didn't it? hahahaha).

I did not want to have a classic or obvious title, such as "Graduation", so I titled the page "Kinder Good Bye". The double "o" in "good" is a number eight. I love to use the numbers and letters for whatever they were not intended to. Just a rebel impulse. Same impulse that drives me to use mixed upper and under caps in the same word. Love it!

I also added some words to transmit my message of friendship hidden in the "graduation" layout... so I rubbed on the words "pals" and "memory" in big brads and circle punched a space to stand them out.

Circles are all around the page to create unity in terms of a "design". The bigger photo is also placed with 3-D squares/dots so it can stand out from the rest.

I hope you liked my page. And I hope somehow I made you think over about friendship.

And talking about friendship.... come on... be my friend... You can still participate in my giveaway. I added some other goodies to the giveaway candy... so you will want to win this. Just go HERE to this older post in which I explain everything. Become a follower, or subscribe by email... and leave me a message in THAT POST telling me about what you like about this blog and if you have a favorite post tell me what it is and why. ok? I'll be waiting for your comments. Winner will be announced at the end of the month.

Some Cards... and an important REMINDER

Hey... It's still Summer! Are you enjoying it? Having fun in the sun?

I have to admit that even living in the tropics, I do not enjoy sun that much... Too hot for me. But I know it's not "normal". Don't have to tell me.

Anyway, Summer's a good season to enjoy outdoor activities, and especially with kids, or pets, or family... Most people are on vacation (not me :(... ). It's also a great time for scrapbooking yeah!

I've been very busy at work and that includes working on weekends... so that leaves me with little little tiny little time to do other things, including going to the beach or Scrapbooking.

What I do is that even if it is cutting a little paper and position it for an idea, or just pass near my SB room and enter to glue something, move the elements, write an idea.... I just do... and when I don't expect it, I have a card almost finished, or an idea just developed and ready to implement. That's the only reason I can keep doing scrapbooking and most people ask me how do I find time to do it...

Here are some cards I made. I hope you like them...

But before that... remember we have a giveaway running. It's so simple to participate and even though you might have a lot of scrapbooking materials, a little candy doesn't hurt. Give yourself the opportunity. You can see details at the bottom of this post.

This K&Co sticker is great to have the sentiment for a card already done. When you are in a hurry, and don't want to stamp, type, write or cut letters, stickers help a lot.

I cut the hearts shape with Cricut from the Paper Pups cartridge. The patterned paper is a scrap paper I received from a make and take.

This sticker is also from K&Co. Isn't it cute?

The card is very simple... A punched border, a sticker and a bow, over a patterned paper.

This other card was made with different pieces of paper of different sizes. You can make your own design of patterned paper with different shapes. In this case I used squares and rectangles all over the card base.

Hope you liked them. Your comments are always appreciated. They make my day!

Don't forget:

Hi There!

Hi there everybody!

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Just wanted to stop by and remind you about the giveaway. It's going to be fun and will be more prizes than just the sneak peek I showed you. Click HERE to participate.

Also wanted to share a quick pretty card I made with scraps. Yes! Just strips of papers I had from other projects. I always keep pieces of papers I do not use because every inch counts... LOL!

So I used some of the strips to emboss flowers with my Cuttlebug machine.... see?

And aligned three of them for the center of attention of the card, then embelished... and that's it!

I hope you like my card.

Don forget the giveaway... click HERE.

More blue flowers...

Remember the blue flowers from my last post? The ones with fabric circles to burn the edges...

Just wanted to show you how I've been using them...

This is a card using one of the fabric flowers I mentioned.
I wanted to have the flower as the main element so I just placed it with paper leaves in a nice background. The handwriting in the center is embossed with the Cutlebug and then softly painted in the surface.

I also made this layout.

I had this photo of me with a blue dress and thought it was perfect to coordinate with the flower... so the layout is about me.

Journaling is about how it doesn't matter the age, a girl is just a girl...

I hope you liked the card and the page... and the use of the flowers.

(card: cardstock: Bazzill; frame: My Mind's Eye; stamp: Unity; ink: Portafolia; others: Scotch glue, Cuttlebug machine and embossing folder; handmade flower; Layout: cardstock: Bazzill; patterned paper: Cactus Pink; tape: Heidi Swapp; border: K&Co; letters: American Crafts; chipboard: Basic Grey; adhesives: Scotch; miscellaneous: dollies, border punch, pearls, handmade flower, computer)

Blue Flowers... anyone?

Hey there... Remember I told you about the Puerto Rico Scrapbook Event celebrated last month? Well... one thing we did was to swap flowers among all scrap-bookers. We identified with a sign saying "swap with me"... or we asked each other if were interested on swapping. I ended up with several handmade flowers, all from different girls, different styles and got to share with some of these girls... so it was fun.

The flowers I made were blue roses... yeah... crazy blue roses and it was fun to make them and to go through all the process (even though I went to sleep very late that night because I wanted to have enough flowers to swap...).

I want to show you how I made them...

First... I identified this fabric I had left from another project and thought it was good for what I had in mind. I think the fabric is organza but don't take my word. But it has to be a light fabric that shrinks when heated. Don't use cotton or any other fabric that does not shrink, but simply gets fired... If you see flames and the fabric simply disappear when heated... Be careful...

I cut several circles in three different sizes from small to medium, and large...

Then, using a candle I carefully burned the edges without letting it burned too far, just enough to shrink the edges and create a darker curly effect.

I put together 3 circles of different sizes for each rose and kept it together with these "flower center seeds" (I don't know how to call them but these are to use for the center of flowers). I decided to use these seeds but it could be something else. You can also glue the circles together and place a button in the center, or simply sew them...

I ended up with more flowers than I could swap, so I will have blue flowers in a lot of projects very soon... Want to swap with me?

A Layout with double purpose...

Hello.... Happy month of July... How are you doing?
I'll soon will be celebrating one year anniversary of this blog... so keep in touch.

Now... I wanted to share this with you... No matter how many layouts I design or scraplift about us, my husband and I, he always says I do not make layouts about him.... It's not true... I do have lots of layouts about him, about how I feel about him, about how much he loves me... etc.... but anyway... It is also true I do have more layouts about our dog, Malbec... and probably about other situations or events...

So I used this photo in which he was celebrating New Year's Eve and made this page...
Not only I am documenting the great time we had in his brother's house welcoming 2011 but also I am using this photo of my husband and nobody else so he can feel it is his layout..hehehehe.

I used a transparency to provide dimension and play with the elements... some are in front, some are behind... I cut lots of circles to complement the theme and tried to maintain the page a bit masculine without losing the party mode.

I hope you like it...

And tell me... does anyone in your family claims about you not doing scrapbooking work about themselves or around their activities or interests? I want to know if I am alone or not... Please tell me about it...
