Happy Hour for Father's Day

Hi. Here's a CAS card for Father's Day. This holiday is a great excuse for a happy hour of dad likes that, right?

I combined three stamps from different kits from Unity Stamp Co, to convey the message. 

Colored the image with watercolor and added glossy accents and glitter for dimension and interesting look. 

To make sure I was adding some masculine aspects I used a patterned paper with brown, bronze and metallic circles. 

Also added some enamel dots and twisted the stamped image and sentiments a bit to create some movement.

Getting Ready for Father's Day

I hadn't done any Father's Day cards yet.  This is my first one. 

Sometimes it is difficult to make a masculine card because too many embellishments not suitable for the theme can be dangerous. LOL. At least that's how I feel.  The simpler the better when talking about male cards... but I just cannot avoid to add some elements or touches... and that can be also achieved with simplicity. 

For this card I watercolored my own imperfect background.  The least uniformity, the better. I stamped the wood image and applied embossing powder, the heated and ended up with great texture.  Oh, I wish you could see the real texture. I darkened the photo a bit to make it more visible to appreciate. 

I used a combination of corrugated cardboard, spray paint, threads, eyelets and more...  for the final composition... guess the card resulted very masculine after all... Hope so.

A blessing! That's what you are!

Hello all. 

Made this card to remind someone how special one is. We all are a blessing ourselves.

I didn't want to complicate the card with symbols or too many elements like I sometimes do; but wanted to convey a very simple and direct message to the recipient.  I had several options of sentiment or messages so I asked my boss to choose among them. This message about being one blessing is just simple and so true. 

The person receiving the card will get a medical intervention soon and we (at work), all wanted to let him know how special he is and remind him to have faith and be sure God will protect him during the whole process. 

I first simulated seeing in a piece of cardstock borders, by drawing lines. Then I used watercoloring to create a background of multiple shades. I then added some texture with modeling paste using a stencil.  The message stamped in Spanish means:  life is full of blessings... you are one of them. 

I also used some washi tapes for a frame and placed the layer with the message with dimensional adhesives. 

Finishing touches were added with some enamel dots.

My DH's birthday

Today's a very special day. My hubby's birthday!!!!!

Thank you God for life with him... in good and bad... health and sickness... some days with more and some with less...   with imperfections from one side to another but loving each other everyday ... 

He's my favorite sommelier, handyman, teacher, engineer, husband, son, friend and more.  Sometimes he's the one who puts my feet on the ground and sometimes he is there just to make me laugh. 

The only thing to wish today is for more of the same... for many many years.

Made this card very very nervous so he didn't find me making it. LOL. It's quite simple in the outside.  Lots of circles work as a frame for the sentiment stamped in Spanish. 

The cool unique difference of he card is on the inside. Instead of a regular sentiment interior of a card, I placed a mini album photo page with different messages and photo. Unique and special for my dear husband.

Mother's Day cards!

I really try to participate in some of the multiple activities during National Scrapbooking Day this past weekend.   However, the truth is I didn't have much time and I really didn't feel the mood when had a little.  

So I made these quick little cards last night just to liberate some of the scrapbooking desire.  LOL!

These are CAS style cards because they re easy to replicate using other elements and  colors. 

Different bases with a folder type patterned paper, a sentiment and other embellishments would do it.

Never too early to create...

I made this card recently using Unity Stamp Co stamps, watercolor paints and Prima Color Sprays.

It's a Halloween theme card and I know it's kind of outdated. But it is never too early or too late to create. Inspiration comes in different shapes and can surprise you.
