And this is it... 2012 coming to an end!

Hey.. just a quick note on the last day of 2012 year!

It's been a nice year... well being positive and all that.  It's really been a tough year in terms of criminality, economy, politics, and the list goes on and on...  But you know, there is always good things to be thankful for.  I admit the bad things make the good ones disappear for some time.  When you concentrate in the bad things you forget about all the beauty you have lived.

So when I saw this in facebook (a friend of a friend posted it)... I immediately thought I should give some of these to my guests tonight.  It explains itself:

I didn't have much time because the rice, salad, pork shoulder roast, decoration, and all these things had priority.  (The most difficult task was to empty my scrapbooking table to be able to use it for the food. LOL)

So the embellishment is not quite elaborated, it is very simple but with the Unity stamps I used to label the jars and tins with "2013" and other images, they came out very cool.  I also included instructions in Spanish.

So, if my guests want to try this for 2013, they'll have the recipient already to start.

Cool, isn't it?  Wanna try it?
You'll probably be surprised at the list you can come up with at the end of the year.
Happy 2013!

Yellow Pinky Holidays!

Oh, yes... you read well.  The title of this post says "yellow pinky holidays"... And it is because I made this project with non traditional Christmas colors.

I have this little gift box I want to use for a gift card present, and I wanted to dress it up a little bit so I decided to embellish the lid of the box.

I used this patterned paper which is not about Christmas at all... and it was on purpose!

Just followed the border of the lid with the paper...

Bent two opposite sides to assemble like this:

Topped with more patterned paper and secured the ends together...

And embellished with stamped images.

I love the result... Do you?

Hope you are having a great Holiday Season... whatever the color!

Bliss!

Hope you are enjoying this last weekend of 2012.  I kind of am...  washing clothes, finishing a card for a birthday party I will attend tonight, making some lists for the last details of New Year's Eve get together... and while my husband is working outside with the yard and the cars... I remembered I made this layout this week and still have not posted it.

It is about my niece.  She kind of loves being photographed and lately she uses the same pose for all of the pictures.  She's like a model!!!  And I feel so very happy when I see all these pictures of her, so beautiful, so happy!  I love this photo of her and decided to make a layout...

I used tapes (cotton and washi), buttons, flowers, patterned paper, paint, ink, and more!

I love this beautiful stamp from Unity and I added some gloss to it.

Oh I love scrapbooking.  I really enjoyed making this layout.  In 2012 this hobby has been a relief for me.  Hope 2013 provides me health and time to continue sharing this with you.

Happy New Year!

Thanks for your support with your comments.  I enjoy them all.  Thank you blogger friends!

Xmas tags!

Hola...  Happy Friday.

Let me show you some Christmas tags I made last week for some friends at work.

I cut with Cricut machine some Xmas trees from the Stretch you Imagination cartridge and decorated with a different color according to the person's favorite color... So there's one with yellow, one green, one purple and two blue ones.

I used eyelets, fiber, chipboard, ink, spellbinders shapes...

... stamps, washi tapes, border punches, glitter, glossy accents...

...buttons, ribbons, baker's twine...

... more buttons, patterned paper...

...more stamps, paint, glue, scissors, paper trimmer... LOL!

This was so fun...

Most of the stamps I used are from Unity, so I'm posting this on Friends with Flair to share with my Unity Friends.  Leave a comment so you can be part of the fun and have the opportunity to win Unity stamps.

Hope you liked my tags...

Secret Santa

Hello everybody... and Merry Christmas.  Tomorrow's Christmas' Eve...  I hope you have great plans to have a blast with family and friends.  I have to admit I don't really know yet if we'll meet here or there... but it's always a good result at the end.  Tomorrow is a regular day of work for both my husband and I, so let's see how the day goes.

I wanted to share with you the card I made for my draw of the Secret Santa at the office.  I was Secret Santa to Vanessa, one of my co-workers/assistants...  I got her a gift card but instead of using an envelope or boring card holder I wanted to give it to her in a tin...

So I used this tin from Walgreens and made a card to perfectly fit inside.

I used chipboard, rub-ons, stickers, bakers twine, stamps, embossing powder and ink for the cover/front of the card and personalized it with her name.

When opened, the card can be bent and placed to show the tree as a die cut, or lift up as a regular card as shown below.

Just wanted to make a simple gift card more fun for her...

Hope you liked it.  She certainly did. :)

Thanks for your comments.

Xmas Tree Card

Less than a week... and then it's Christmas!  Wow!  Time goes fast.

Well...  I guess I can continue sharing Christmas cards with you.

Here's one I made last weekend using the Cricut machine, the Cuttlebug and some glitter... to feature a cute Xmas tree.

The ribbon on top is a gift from my friend Sonibel... Just perfect to be at the top of my little tree.

Here's the whole card.

I kind of love it...  I really enjoyed making it.  :)  Hope you like it too.

Thanks for your comments.

A Holiday Present!

Oh yeah... Sunday is over... a few minutes ago (my time).  Tomorrow is Monday... crazy Monday!

But to finalize the weekend I made a card for the Outlawz CAS Sunday challenge... featuring presents. I have some stamps and patterned paper with presents... but I didn't really want to use those.. Since this is CAS challenge, it's cool to add a little bit of imagination and still be true to the style.

So I cut a little square with patterned paper and added some ribbon to  simulate a present.

Love how it looks and it is unique.

Here's the whole card.

Have a wonderful week!

Go Friday, Go Friday, Go Friday...

It's Friday again... and it's great to be part of it.  It's the beginning of a weekend... Yeih!!!

And, for Unity Friends with Flair I will share this card.

From my Christmas box I've got some presents stickers, die-cuts, patterned paper scraps, washi tapes...  and more...  So I combined with this leaves stamp from Unity and completed this Christmas card.  I love the way it gives a nice final touch to the whole recollection of elements.

Also liked the looks of the embossed background and the ink in the edges.  I added some glossy accents to some parts of the printed trees.

So, it's a very simple card with several different elements from different kits or collections.

We are closer to Christmas than you think.  Do you already have your presents?
I don't.

Happy Friday.

E-cards or Paper Cards... that is the question!

Happy middle of the week!

Oh well... With all this technology thing and social media going on in our lives, it's cool to know there is still some people who likes to give or receive paper Christmas cards.   What would a card maker or scrapbooker do if that wasn't the case?  ok, ok... digital scrapbooking.

But I still like the old fashioned way.  The other day I met with some friends and made some Christmas cards.  It's more what we talked than we made scrapbooking but it is always fun to meet with friends and dedicate some time to the hobby.

I've already shared with you some of the cards I've made...  This is one of the cards I made using patterned paper as base, die-cut tree image, stamps, washi tapes and baker's twine.

Love the final look.

Hope I can share more Christmas cards soon.

See ya'!

Let it Snow!

Hello friends...

There's no such thing as snowing in my country, beautiful Island of Puerto Rico.  But I love Snowpeople...  They are sooo cute.  Most of the time they have these friendly faces and welcome smiles... I love them.
I call them "amiguitos" which mean "little friends".

Also, snowmen have become a very important icon of Christmas around the world... and even though we don't get to see the real snow in the Island, a lot of people decorate their homes with these amiguitos.  So making cards with them is ok too...LOL...

This is a pretty simple card made with a Snowman die-cut I've had for a while (Actually, I have a box with Christmas papers and embellishments that I use every year because I refuse to keep buying more papers until I use them all -well with a little exceptions- and this Snowman had been there for a while).

I arranged it with a tag, inked distressed patterned papers, buttons and also added a Santa hat to my little cold friend.

Some glossy accents also gave some life to his nose and buttons.

I love the final look of my card.  Hope you too...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

TIME FOR ... "blank"

What time is it?

It's your time!

What time is it?

It's my time!

What time is it?

Time to make decisions, live each moment, enjoy life, be a better person and celebrate life!

What time is it?

It's Friday time!!!! Wooohoooo!  The first Friday of this December!

First of all let me tell you:  Happy Friday! (You can't hear me screaming, but you can try and imagine me dancing while saying it!)

It's been a rough week at work, full agenda, a lot of things to do for the weekend...  well... what can I say?  Such is life.

I made a card with my newest stamps from Unity... some from the "wine" edition and others I got randomly from a grab bag (there's never one of these I don't like and I love it's a surprise).  This was specially made thinking of Friday Friends with Flair, but you won't believe this.  When I finished the card, I checked on some emails and blogs and saw the current Unity KOM Sketch.  It must had been I've seen it and loved it, but my card very much resembles that sketch even though I made it all from scratch.  But maybe it is God that knows I also wanted to participate in the challenge and support it... so I will post it there also.

I wanted to use the wine glass clock with the nice sentiment "it's wine o'clock" but also wanted to give a twist to the message... so I decided to use these earth colors and tones that with some distressing and ink help, transport me on time and give me the impression of history...

Then I added this other sentiment and helped with another stamp image.  For me it's kind of funny to say it's wine o'clock but then immediately provided room for a more serious message saying "live each moment".   And since for me, a wine moment is sacred, I love the result...(it's like "live each drop" LOL!)

This is the sketch, for your reference and in case you want to participate and support this challenge, get more info by clicking on the image.  Prizes are great and even if you don't win, you'll have a blast getting all the inspiration... and who knows?  Maybe you get the surprise of winning like I did last week, when this:   Christmas card won!  Woohoo!

I hope you too love it (or at least I gave you some inspiration for that project you've had in mind for a while... or inspiration to make a decision to live that "something you have in mind" now!)

Have a grrrrrrrrreattttt Friday!

Wine for the Holidays!

Hello... Happy Friday!  It's Friday Friends with Flair at Unity!

When you read the title of this post, you probably thought I would be recommending some wines for the Holidays... Well, it's not the case.

Let me tell you...  I bought this notepad at Target a couple of weeks ago during one of those business trips I've had lately.

I just loved the message!  You know I love wine...  the name of my blog has a reason, ok?

Also... I recently ordered some stamps from Unity.  They have sentiments and images that are related to wine.   Yes!!!! So I combined the inspiration of the message in the pad with a Unity stamp to create this card.

I typed the message in the computer, stamped the image and colored.
I don't have many coloring tools ...  I mean, I have a little bit of this and that... but not a lot of one type of coloring tool... Besides, I am not very good at coloring... So I combined paper piecing and coloring with copics, watercolor pencils and even a sharpie.  I finished with some glossy accents (still kind of wet in the photo), to enhance the image.

The original stamp has three little hearts above the larger wine glass in the middle, but I placed a Christmas icon there because of the message I used.

So, it's Friday!  Don't you think is a good opportunity to taste some wine today?  Cheers!

Now, seriously... I haven't bought any Christmas presents yet... not even ready with a list... and the tree is still waiting on us to get out of the box...  But all we need for Christmas is...  (besides wine)... health, family, God's blessing, and love!!!  Let's not forget about the real celebration... :)

Tks for your visit and your comments.

2 For the Sketch of 1

Hello... Happy middle of the week!

I received some stamps I ordered recently from Unity...  There were grab bags among them and the stamps included were a pleasant surprise.  One of them was this beautiful Christmas tree I just love.

So I made a card using the sketch of the November KOM Sketch Challenge from Unity.

I stamped the tree with green ink and added green embossing powder before applying heat with the gone.  Love the effect (the photo doesn't make justice but you can get the idea).

This is the sketch:

And this is the whole card:

Then I realized this sketch was very suitable for a CAS card... so I was ready to make another one and thought of the current The Outlawz Challenges Sunday challenge.  This time I used another one of the surprise stamps showing a tower of sweet cupcakes.   Mmmmmm...   I rotated the card to make it vertical.

I hope you liked my cards...  And I hope you leave me a comment.  I really enjoy reading them.

Have a nice rest of the week!
