Did I say Halloween is not over yet?

Happy Friday friends...

Halloween is not over yet... because I haven't shown you this card.  This was published in the last edition of the magazine Papeles y Más.

I loved making this one because the details in this stamp are great, and this witch is gorgeous.

Note I used watercolor pencils, and glossy accents, glitter and lots of color for the beautiful witch.  I even used some real brush hair for the broom... Yes, I used an old pencil brush and cut some hair.

I'm linking this to Unity Stamp Co Friday Friends with Flair... so as I always say, make sure to leave a comment for a chance to win with Unity.

And if you don't have last issue of the magazine... what are you waiting for?  There's plenty of inspiration and great work from the Design Team and a lot of other friends.  Check it out HERE.

Also... did you know you can follow me in facebook?  Yes... RIGHT HERE.

Be Inspired...

HELLO my friends.  Starting a week with lots of things in mind... work, health, house chores, scrapbooking projects, family...  I have so much to do...   But being busy, worried, and even in pain... remind me that I'm alive!

For the Unity Be Inspired Challenge I made a Christmas card with non traditional Xmas colors... Those are the ones I love!

I used gold paper, and also made some beautiful textures with modeling paste and gold spray mist over pink cardstock.  Colored my lady mainly with watercolor pencils... and I absolutely loved the result and hope you too!

Finishing touches include sequins (of course!), baker's twine, and these beautiful chipboard snowflakes I've got from a Unity mystery bag recently.  I painted them... Lovely, aren't they?

I will link this to the Challenge, and will also share in the Friday Friends with Flair next Friday, so you can leave comments and have the opportunity to win with Unity Stamp Co.

OH... and don't wanna leave without sharing a Halloween photo from last Friday.  We had a blast at work.  My team dressed up like local (Puerto Rico) children's characters.   We also had other departments and had a contest.  All won something... and all had so much fun.

Happy Pre-Halloween!

Hey there...
It's almost Halloween!  I know most people have enjoyed Halloween parties since last weekend... but the real day is Oct. 31st!!!!

You know?  I really enjoy Halloween. And I respect a lot that some people don't celebrate this day because of its origins... but I also think there are some things that have the meaning that you want to give them...  All is in you... in the things you do with what you have and what you believe, and how you turn "anything" into a "positive something".

We will dress up at work and we are going to have so much fun... I will share photos later but don't want to ruin the surprise telling you about it in advance.

So... to get into the mood, let me show you a double page layout with photos of a past Halloween.

I used a lot of paint, stamps, patterned paper... and so many details for these pages.  I enjoyed the process...  yeah!

For the "H" in the title, I used pattenerd paper, and added sections from a journaling card I've got with an Unity Stamp Co. order.

I also created some spots with elements referring to specific photos.  These stamped "sweetheart" messages with the "live each moment" one, and the heart, are all Unity Stamp Co, stamps right below a photo of my DH and me.

And this journaling card is referring to a photo where all the girls are posing.  Note the word "fun", the "ribbon" and the "Girls just wanna have fun" message are three different stamps.

I also supported the balance of the page with background stamps (Glitz Designs) and rubons metalic gold spots... and paint...

Here's the whole left page... another Unity stamp spotted (ticket date).

And here the right side one!

And here's how they look together.

Well... hope you liked it.  And as I told you... I enjoyed making it... and I love how imperfect it looks.

Have a greaat Halloween!!!

I am a published scrapbooker!

Happy Friday!

Remember I told you about the Papeles y Más magazine?  HERE is the post about it.  And today I will share one project I exclusively made for this magazine and was already published in last issue.

It was a party favor I hand-made and embellished with the Halloween theme.  You can find the list of materials and instructions in the magazine.

The main image... this cute witch, is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co.  I love it!

Tks for stopping by.

Halloween... Trick or Trip...

Happy Halloween my friends!  I love Halloween!  It is an opportunity to have fun impersonating a character, an artist, a role, whatever...  I think that everything has a positive side and as long as a day like this make us be with our friends and share good things, it's so cool.  I've been a policewoman, singer Selena Quintanilla, a clown, gipsy, nerd, Cleopatra... and so much more.  Even though I don't have kids, I love to see how they enjoy a positive get together with friends and family.

I am out of town on a vacation trip... and I haven't been able to do scrapbooking... but I scheduled this post to say hello and picked some very very very (really) old projects to share with you...

What about this page with my crazy neighbors?

Or this cool hand made paper piecing of a circus tent to give life to this page with my co-workers?

In these pages, we were Hollywood artists at a friend's birthday.  (This wasn't really Halloween but we were wearing costumes so it's ok...)

This is a party favor made with love a couple of years ago...

So was this one...

And these...

Hope you have a wonderful Halloween... I'll be home soon and I hope that when that happens and I get to read my emails, I find out I have a lot of comments from my blogger friends...

Boo!

Happy Halloween!!!

Hope you are having a wonderful Halloween weekend!

I went to a party last Friday... and tomorrow will probably do some trick or treat around the neighborhood...

We've been several years in a row wearing customs at work... and each department select a theme and enjoy a get together... However, this year is not the case... Guess economic situation and tension have limited budget and intentions too... We'll have fun anyway... We are a very good team.

Let me share with you this simple Halloween card...

Little Frankie is a digi image from a free download. I don't have the name of the source. If someone knows please let me know and I will give the corresponding credit.

I used distressed inks combined with watercolor pencils to paint the image. It's not really the best painted image but I finally liked it combined with the TAC papers and the other elements.

Letters are Tim Holtz', border is from Bazzill, and stamps are from Inkadindado. I hope you like it or at least give you some inspiration...Boo!!!

Also wanted to share my custom this year... I was a policewoman and my husband was an inmate... LOL!!!

Your comments are always very appreciated. During the last weeks I haven't had the chance to respond to many of them, but I assure you I read them and that they make me feel I am your friend. Thanks for not stopping visiting my blog, recommend it to your friends and be a follower... Take care :)

Even Closer... A Birthloween Card!

We're just one day away!!! Halloween is fun! Hope you enjoy it and take time to trick or treat.

Look at this card I made for a person who's bday is in Halloween... Outside, the card looks like an ordinary Halloween card and it says "Best Witch". I used Glossy Accents to stand out the little bats and spider, as well as the witch.

However, in the inside, I used different colors to drastically change to the birthday message, saying "sorry, I meant 'best wishes' "... Hahahaha!

I hope you like it!!!
Remember to take some time to be imperfect in Halloween and have fun!!!

Almost there!!! Boo!

It's almost Halloween.... Candy, costumes, witches, more costumes, and a lot of fun. I will dress up tomorrow for work. We usually do it as a team in the department I work, and we share with others during the afternoon. Very cool. Then during the weekend, we'll attend several parties including one at my neighborhood. I'll be a nerd this year... LOL!!!

Anyways... to be on the mood of Halloween, let me share with you this layout with last year's photos.

Since the flag banners started to be “in” for scrapbooking, I wanted to make my own. I also wanted to show multiple pictures in one page since I have several pictures from this day with my neighbors but didn’t want to make too many pages or even an album. I also had some 8x8 Halloween papers I’d never used for layouts since most of my layouts are 12x12. So, I trimmed one of the 8x8 papers which had sort of a black frame as part of the pattern and I decided it was for the photo I wanted to emphasize.

I made the banner for the title, cutting triangles by eye and hand, since I wanted it to be imperfect. I used a 2” strip and cut about each 1.5” for the triangles. I embellished each triangle with different papers, stamps and letters and joined them with a ribbon. I also hand cut a ghost in white cardstock, inked the edges and glued plastic moving eyes.

I arranged all the photos in a way they look organized and break the pattern with this one photo I wanted to be the focus of attention and stand out with 3-d squares. I filled the spaces with patterned paper. I also stamped a background on the sections of cardstock not filled with photos or patterned paper. I framed the photos with strips of paper with shapes, placed banner as title and completed with chipboard letters. I also used stamps of smaller letters in the title I wanted to give less importance (“not so”).

Since this page has so many elements, I placed groups of 3 dots in 3 different places forming a visual triangle for balance.

I hope you enjoyed it. And tell me... are you going to dress up tomorrow? What are you going to be?
