Since the Lock Down started...

Hello dear friends. I hope you are all fine and healthy.  We are living a historical pandemia and this is definitely something we will continue telling others for years to come, and remembering as a very special life event.

Well... In my beautiful Puerto Rico the lockdown and social restrictions started on March 16, 2020.  Since then, I hadn't posted anything in my blog.  It's no coincidence.  I really haven't dedicated much time to the hobby, but it's not that I haven't made any projects.  I have actually been working all the time and am one of the lucky ones to have a job.  I know the blog is not as "in" as it is social media (Facebook and Instagram), which are platforms that allow for more immediate sharing; but I'd like to continue "feeding" the blog so we have this one place to see all my creations and remember.  It's a top documenting tool and I am glad it is still available.

So I've made some projects during this time we have been in lock down and I just wanted to show some of them here... even though you have probably seen the in social media :).

This composition was made in a shadow box to remember one highlight event during a trip to Italy on 2018.  Love this visit to Guizzo, and really enjoyed the time with the family.  They gave me all the colors caps they have used so far, so I placed them along with the picture as a memorabilia tribute.

This card was made combining several stamps and I tried to show a girl blooming... I later gave to a coworker on her birthday.  She really is a blooming girl.

During this time, I also shared this page from a traveling journaling book.

I made this card with Covid theme... just for fun.

And for Mother's Day I made several cards with same CAS style, using embossing, stamps and watercoloring.

Another project I made during this time, was this page about me and my brother when we were little.  I don't remember my three years in New York but I sure treasure all the pictures.  Mom always said she we had a very hard time, and I wish I'd remember.

This is an ATC I made for a show and tell group and I later gave it to a coworker friend who loves Panda bears.  :)  She loved it.

This card was for another coworker leaving our company for another job.  We will miss her so.  This was very interesting because when I was making the card I was thinking... what are some of the things she likes so I can make a card she loves????   And I thought ... pizza... decorations... party planning... maybe makeup...  But then I thought to myself... Let's use these cute stamps with succulents... maybe she likes succulents.  Well, long story short... she loved succulents.  Voila!

Then I made this little project with some sparkling wines and champagne caps.  I still have a lot more of different colors... It just happened I used only a few of the gold and black ones for this project.  Tasting the stars was the first impression about champagne, from the man who discovered it... and I agree it is like tasting the stars.  

Another card for a co-worker... I think I am making lots of cards for my coworkers..LOL!  This is a special one.  This girl loves elephants.  Her name is Patricia but we call her PatG to distinguish from another Pat... LOL!   She wasn't at the office on her birthday but we left the card in her desk and she discovered it like a week later... LOL!  She loved it.

This another card just for fun...   It kind of make me thing of all the strong girls and ladies I know... and since she's a mermaid I specially think about my niece. :)  She is a mermaid.

Another coworker's card...   This time my boss.  Made this card with these beautiful new stamps.  I love making it... love this wooden look, and the best part was the watercoloring and the fussy cut.  

Finally, and enough for this long post...   This card I had made for a magazine that paused printing during this time of pandemic lock down.  The card was not actually chosen... I think it could have a good chance.  But the best part is that I really loved making it.  Giving wings to this girl was an awesome feeling... and the background with different inks and distressing...  really liked how it turned out.  Hope you like it too.

I combined several scraps of different patterned papers to create this backbroung.   Stamped the pear tree and colored with watercolor pencils, then cut and positioned in the background.  Some sequins of course... love sequins.

Feliz Día del Amor - Happy LOVE Day

 Felicidades en el día del Amor....
O sea, que felicidades todos los días, ya que todos los días son días de amor... 

Pero hoy es especial.  Es día de ese monje famoso que protegía a los enamorados y defendía las acciones  a nombre del amor...  San Valentín.

Happy Love Day!
I mean, happy everyday, because everyday is love day...
But today's is special.  It is the day of that famous monk who protected lovers and defended actions in the name of love... St. Valentine.

Y para honrar el día de hoy les comparto una página que hice utilizando varios medios, incluyendo sellitos de Latina Crafter.

And to honor this day I'm sharing a page I made using mixed media, including stamps from Latina Crafter.

Utilicé pinturas, "sprays", "modeling paste", "stencils", papeles, "stickers", lentejuelas y hasta crayolas.  Me divertí mucho haciendo esta página.  De verdad que me disfruto mucho trabajar con  medios mixtos y sobre todo con pintura... aunque  he descuidado grandemente mi manicura :(.

I used paints, sprays, modeling paste, stencils, papers, stickers, sequins and even crayons.  I had so much fun making this page.  I really enjoy working with mixed media and above all painting... even though that means I haven't been taking care of my manicure. :(

Por otro lado les confieso que hace un tiempo estoy por aportar en un blog que me gusta mucho que se llama Scrapping Everyday Miracles.  Hace un tiempo fui diseñadora invitada y fue muy divertido.  Y no es casualidad quizás que hice esta página hace un tiempito y cuando posteriormente vi el sketch del mes de SEM parecería como si lo hubiera usado de inspiración.  Así que aunque funcionó en reversa, me parece que es la oportunidad de participar este mes con ellos.  Al final les incluyo referencia del sketch.

On the other hand, I confess that it has been a while I've been pending to support a blog I like a lot and it's called Scrapping Everyday Miracles (SEM).  I was a guest designer before and it was so much fun.  Maybe it's not a coincidence that I made this page a while ago and when afterwards I saw this month sketch at SEM, it seemed like I was inspired by it to make this page.  So even though this is working backwards, I think it is a great opportunity to participate with SEM.  I included the sketch at the end of post for your reference.

Sweet Treats

Happy Friday dear friends...  It's Friday the 13th... that doesn't sound right... LOL... but tomorrow is St. Valentine's Day!   Woooohoooo! 

I'm not used to going to dinner or get flowers/chocolates this day, but we were invited to go to a special activity with dinner paired with wine, so we'll go... 

I certainly enjoy the love around me everyday... and enjoy making projects related to Love..

Let me show you this party favor box embellished with design paper, sequins, a punched scalloped circle, baker's twine and offff courrrsssseee... stamps.

The box was hand made and covered with paper.  The stamps are from Unity Stamp Co.  I love that I added some glossy accents to the stamped hearts in the lid of the box...  They look awesome.  There's also another stamp in the front/side panel of the base.  It says "LOVE"

It is ALWAYS about love...

Already celebrating love?  Yeah... It's everyday, I know.  This month, specially, love is relevant... but you know what?  It's all about love.  It really is...  If you think harder, you can notice everything we do or say is linked somehow to love...  and at the end, it's all about it.

This card was made with that sentiment in mind and showing the Unity world stamp, which I literally love!  For me this image, is not only a world with the shape of a heart... but it can mean so many things.  Love for the people, love no matter where you are from, love to our planet, love each other, love being human, love creation, you mean the world to me...  it's all about love...

And this is a CAS card using sprays, stamps, a wood veneer and twine.  Hope you like it and maybe you got some inspiration from it... who knows?  Tks for your visit.

Take it and Make it Challenge - MY MIXED MEDIA LOVE

Hello my friends.  Here I am sharing a beautiful canvas using mixed media.

Love to combine textures and colors in a canvas...  and to also add paper and embellishments to the project to create a unique piece.

Look at my heart with paper shapes for texture, modeling paste applied with stencils, and even melted crayolas.  Isn't it beautiful? :)  I also added stamped sentiments from Latina Crafter, and pearls, among other embellishments.

A few girls already saw this project in a local small store where it is being exhibited but this hasn't been shown/published yet so I am sharing it with you and with my Craft Stampers Magazine friends.    Take it and Make it Challenge this month features the use of stencils, and I think this project is perfect for it.  You can get more information HERE.

YO CREO EN EL AMOR - (tarjeta para LCSC#44)

 Hola una vez más queridas amigas del blog... y sobre todo a las amigas latinas.

Ya estamos en febrero... mejor conocido como el mes del amor.  Aunque sabemos que el amor se demuestra todos los días, no cabe duda de que en febrero abundan las muestras de amor, regalitos, declaraciones, actividades, y más.  A menudo escucho gente que dice que "no cree en el amor".  Bueno... muchas veces son personas que han tenido malas experiencias con parejas pero decir que no se cree en el amor me parece muy fuerte.  El amor no tiene la culpa de que algunas cosas no funcionen, o que las personas nos equivoquemos, tomemos malas decisiones en su nombre, o hasta cambiemos por él.  El amor sigue siendo grandioso.

Yo pienso que el amor es en gran parte una decisión.  Decides amar y todo lo que hagas, digas, decidas, o ejecutes en lo adelante, debería apoyar tu decisión.  Y a veces tenemos que dejar de esperar muestras de amor tradicionales, como flores, chocolates o cenas románticas.  Todos estos los disfruto mucho, pero cuando se preocupan por que mi auto tenga el cambio de aceite y filtro al día, o están pendientes de si almorcé bien, o de mi salud... esas son muestras de amor!

Por eso me encantan estos sellos de Latina Crafter.  Yo creo en el Amor!!!!

Para esta tarjeta usé estas preciosas imágenes y el mensaje "Yo creo en el Amor".  En el fondo usé este hermoso papel que ya tiene impreso un corazón de donde salen los rayos azules...  Cool, para no usar todo rojo y rosado como es tradicional, sino que darle un toque de otros colores también.

Utilicé inspiración del sketch del mes de febrero de Latina Crafter (LCSC #44), pero tengan imaginación y volteen el mismo una vez a favor de las manecillas del reloj...  :)

Cuenta tus Bendiciones...

Hello my friends!  This post will be in Spanish.  When I use Latina Crafter products I usually post in Spanish to honor the language.  Remember you can always use the translator in my blog.

Hola febrero!!!!!

Qué mejor manera de comenzar un mes que no sea contando tus bendiciones?  Bueno, bueno... a veces las fechas son simplemente una inspiración para nosotros lograr metas o celebrar eventos, y para marcar etapas de nuestras vidas.  Y aunque parezca que es algo que todo el mundo dice y una repite, pues el comienzo de un mes, de una semana, o de una época en particular siempre marca algo... y me encanta que lo usemos como excusas para mejorar o para trazarnos metas... por qué no?

Así que tenía pendiente adornar mi jarro de 2015... Cada año trato de designar un envase para que anotemos cosas especiales, buenas noticias, sucesos por los que estamos agradecidos, celebraciones, sorpresas que lleguen a nuestras vidas, metas alcanzadas... en fin... puras bendiciones.  El de este año no lo había designado todavía y tenía algunas bendiciones anotadas esperando por el envase.

Todo empezó hace unos 3 a 4 años porque veíamos cómo la gente (incluyéndonos, porque somos humanos), nos quejamos tanto y tanto... Y siempre que termina un año decimos que fue malo, o que no fue tan bueno, o que no nos trajo esto o aquello... Pero la  verdad es que es fácil marcar un año por lo malo que nos sucedió y nunca olvidaremos.  Pero qué tal si lo recordamos por las cosas buenas?  Y entonces vi esta idea en una foto en facebook hace un tiempo.  Alguien le había dado "me gusta" y de ahí en adelante copié el concepto.  Al finalizar el año siempre leemos todo lo que anotamos y es maravilloso cómo nos sorprendemos nosotros mismos de las cosas que escribimos en un momento dado y que ya habíamos prácticamente olvidado.

Usé sellitos de Latina Crafter para adornar el frasco... y también washi tapes...

Así que en este jarro de cristal estaremos incorporando papelitos todo el año, con las cosas buenas que nos suceden y por las que estamos agradecidos...  Al final del 2015 nos daremos cuenta que no fue tan malo como pensamos...

A veces hay personas que se siguen enfocando en cosas negativas.. y si algo bueno les pasa, en lugar de agradecer, se quejan de que por fin algo les pasó, o piensan que de seguro no les durará mucho.  También insisten en que están solos, que nadie los quiere, o que nada les sale bien... pero cuando se analizan se podrían dar cuenta de que ellos mismos se apartan de las cosas bellas que Dios les da.  Pues yo creo que aparte de que Dios siempre nos da la oportunidad de vivir de todo un poco y no nos desampara, también pienso que nuestras vibras positivas atraen cosas positivas... y las negativas pues la negativas.  Trato de ser muy optimista, y aunque sigo siendo humana y por ende a veces me falla este optimismo, estar consciente ayuda bastante. :)  Es mejor que no hacer nada y quejarse.

Intenten enfocarse en lo positivo y verán cuán dichosos son!   Que tengan excelente semana... excelente mes de febrero... y que sigan disfrutando las bendiciones del 2015!!!!  Hasta la próxima.

Unity Be Inspired Challenge

Hello my friends... Today is a good day... everyday has its own magic, don't you think?

I want to share a card I made for a very special co worker whose birthday was a couple of days ago.   A writer, among other things... very talented person... a dreamer.

I used the inspirational colors from the Unity Be Inspired Challenge, and several stamps from different kits.  Used a mask to stamp one image behind another.  The background was made with watercolor pencils and water brush.  The sentiment was heat embossed for a special texture.

Love the card is so unique... never will be one with same design since the watercolor can never be the same over and over... :)

Christmas Angel Tapestry!

And.... As I told you last week... I still have a Christmas project to share.  This is a very special project which was also published in a local magazine called "Papeles y Más" (Papers and More...).  This is a canvas made a "tapestry" to hang on a door or special place.

I first designated the area, sewed the borders, and stamped the main image in a center... creating separately a mask and then used paint, sprays, fabrics, embossing and a lot of stamping all over to create a magical Christmas scenery.

When done, removed the mask and also added sentiments.

I separately stamped the same image and colored, and then positioned in the center to stand out.

This was hung in my scrapbooking room's door during Christmas... now still around... I don't want to storage it.. LOL!

LCSC43 - UN RETO CON CASITAS

Saludos!   Por aquí les muestro una tarjeta hecha para el Reto #43 de Latina Crafter.  El mismo además de proveer un "sketch" también incluye un "twist" que en este caso es el uso de casitas.

El sketch lo pueden ver AQUI  y así vean cómo no lo usé exactamente igual pero me inspiré en el cuadro y círculo como tal.

No tengo sellos de casitas como tal de la línea de Latina Crafter, pero me pareció interesante crear uno con otros elementos o herramientas.  Usé el "stencil" que tiene la palabra "Hola" y pinté sobre papel de diseño para que al remover el molde quedara plasmado en el diseño del papel.

También usé otro sello para el mensaje, y además los sellos de la bicicleta y las flores, que fueron estampados y cortados para poder darle un poco de dimensión con algunos adhesivos especiales.

Incluí diferente círculos, "baker's twine"... y por supuesto lentejuelas...     El techito de la casita? pues simple "paper piecing"...

Wine Label Card!

Hello my friends...

It's so cool to welcome the second Friday of 2015!!!

I love Fridays.  They are very special because they represent the transition to the weekend and a review of great things during the week...  I've been loving Fridays for a while and sometimes we do a "Viernazo D'vino"... which is like a "Great Friday of Wine" kind of thing.  No big deal... just sharing a little wine with my DH and talk about the week ending, and the weekend plans.

Anyway... a couple of weeks ago, we were at home on a Saturday and were thinking of tasting this wine I love.  Its name is Cadus and the grape is Bonarda.  It's Argentinian and it's a great wine..  robust but fruity... very balanced.

We called our neighbor friends and they came.  It wasn't a planned activity but we had such a good time.  And they loved the wine too!

So at the following day I made a quick card to say thanks for their company.  I used the wine label in the card.  By the way, this is something I've done before... There are some cards I've made for a local magazine and I haven't shown them to you yet... so this is material for a following up future post.  Stay tuned...LOL!

I used some color bloom from Prima and Shimmer Mist from Tattered Angels, plus great stamps from Unity Stamp Co. to make the card.

Feliz Día de Reyes! y otro más para Calentando Motores de LC!

Felicidades a todo(a)s en este día especial!  Para mí el Día de los Reyes es súper especial porque me trae muchos recuerdos de mi niñez y los buenos momentos de disfrutar las fiestas de Reyes en el campo, la ilusión de dejar la yerba para los camellos,  la música típica, y recibir los regalitos, que aunque fueran sencillos, para nosotros eran lo mejor!!!!

Además, yo pienso que al ser los Reyes Magos y este día, más relevante a nuestra cultura, lo debemos celebrar más.  No se debe perder la tradición.  Yo entiendo que las fiestas de Navidad y la magia de Santa Claus son muy importantes también (de hecho, amo a ese viejito gordito), pero siguen siendo los Reyes Magos más especiales.  Muchos de mis amigos recuerdan a Santa Claus con mayor nostalgia que los Reyes porque sus padres les decían que los Reyes eran pobres y los regalitos llegaban en Navidad y no el Día de Reyes.  Yo siempre contesto a esto que primero que todo Los Santos Reyes se relacionan directamente con el Nacimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y luego hago hincapié en que no son pobres, porque son Reyes!!!!

Pero bueno... Latina Crafter tiene este sello de los Tres Reyes Magos que es muy bonito.  Hice una tarjetita para la Revista Papeles y Más y no se las había compartido, así que aprovecho que se está llevando a cabo un evento de Blog Hop para hacer el link y compartirles este proyecto.

Como parte de los elementos y adornos usados en la tarjeta, también usé "stencils" para la base, un botoncito y el mensaje o sentimiento... todo de Latina Crafter.

También usé lentejuelas, tela de saco (burlap), tarjetas y papel de diseño, y cordones (baker's twine).

Calentando Motores con Latina Crafter!

Hola a todas... Cómo les va el 2015?

Pues yo ya he ido a varias actividades, he hecho alguito de Scrapbooking y hasta he emprendido nuevas cosas...

Les comento que Latina Crafter tiene un blog hop en estos momentos y hay grandes proyectos de inspiración que compartir, además de grandes premios. Pueden ver información AQUI.

Yo les comparto hoy unas cajitas que hice para dar unos detallitos a algunas personas especiales.

Están hechas por supuesto a mano... pero sin ningún troquel ni nada... si no simplemente cortan a ojo y luego de haber ensamblado la primera pues ya hice las otras iguales.   Lo que hago es que selecciono el tamaño que quiero para la caja y el alto.  Con eso determino la medida.  Por ejemplo, para una caja cuadrada de 3" con 1" de alto, corto un cuadrado de 5" para la base.  Esto me da oportunidad de doblar los bordes a 1" alrededor y me queda la base de 3" deseada... Y así con la tapa y con todo.

Luego, con papel de diseño cubrí los lados de la tapa y de la base, así como la parte superior.

Yo rellené mis cajitas con chocolates.  A todas les incluí un mensaje estampado adentro y afuera, con sellos de Latina Crafter, y un detallito de adorno a cada una de acuerdo a las personalidades o simplemente para variar y que no haya ninguna como la otra.

Happy New Year!!!!

I'm so looking forward for 2015 great opportunities and new things!

Last year was a good one... but I have to admit I've had better...  Nothing too serious or unmanageable but definitely some things I would had changed!  A year of changes, crisis, adjustments, but also love, family, great friends and scrapbooking.

I am very positive to see improving the economy in our beautiful island...  I want to continue working hard and doing all I love...  I'm looking forward to my DH's new plans within the wine industry... and I want to continue scrapbooking as much as I can... LOL!

And I wish you all the best in your plans too!  Hope this year is as special as you are!

I also cut vellum, silver and gold stars... combined with sequins, washi tapes, fibers and more...
