Curtain Call Challenge and FWF

Well well... Here I am posting a card to share with you.  I really loved this image when  saw this challenge from Curtain Call, so tried to get some time to participate.

Here's my take:

I used design paper to make the banner and added some butlap and sequins. At the bottom added some corrugated paper and bakers twine.

One of the sections in the banner has a birthday sentiment.  This and the beautiful bike are stamps from Unity Stamp Co. So besides linking this to Curtain Call, will do the same with Friends with Flair at Unity, so make sure to leave a comment for a chance to win with Unity Stamp Co. They select a winner from the comments of all entries.

Tks for stopping by my friends!!!

BTS Playing Cards

Hey friends.

Love the fact it is Friday. It sounds as words I've said before but I assure it is a genuine new and fresh feeling every time.

Today I am sharing a project published recently in the Papeles y Más magazine.
The assignment was to make educational games for Back to School season. I made these playing cards with vocals and numbers. Check them out.

In one side the letters and numbers and on the other side the images to associate.

I am linking this today to Friday Friends with Flair at Unity Stamp Co.  Leave a message/comment for a chance to win.  Besides, I looooveee to read your comments.

Friends with Flair

Today is Friday and I am happy I can participate in Unity's FWF.

You know I love imperfection.  I can definitely appreciate and value a well colored image but I also love the imperfect look in some images, simulating different styles of painting and showing great work as well.

For this image I wanted a subtle coloring without perfect lines and just going from one color to another... So I just made up a technique... LOL.

I stamped the image in vellum to use as stencil. Measuring by eye and lifting the image, I applied color in cardstock in the corresponding areas.

I then slightly and taking seriously the imperfection, blended colors with water brush.

Finally, stamped the image on the colors. This way the image look sharp because the color was applied first as base.

I cut the image for a card.

Hope you like it. If so, don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win with Unity.

Have a great weekend.

You can do anything!

Feliz viernes!!!!   Wooohoooo!!!  It is Friday!!!   I know you know... Just need to day it... LOL.

When you have self confident you think you can do anything. If you fail, you are realistic enough to understand and learn from it. If you succeed you get more confidence to continue doing more things.

This card reminds me that. Love the sentiment and the analogy with the shoes.  Hope you like it too.

I will have another class soon. Keep informed here and following me on facebook.

Hope you have a Friday full of confidence.

Leave a message for a chance to win with Unity Stamp Co.  Today is Friday Friends with Flair.

Let Love Grow!

Today's St.  Valentine's Day. Happy love day to everybody. And happy love life!!!  I think love is not necessarily a feeling only, but it is a decision. I said this before. I think you decide to allow love to grow over the years with your family, friends, relatives, and of course you're other half love of your life. So today, it's a day for you to decide to love everything around you. Love will answer you back. I'm sure about it.

Today, I'm sharing a layout I made for the magazine "Papeles y Màs". You have probably seen it before if you already bought the magazine. But for those who have not seen it, I decided to share itofficially  today, because it is very appropriate for the LOVE topic.

This is my husband and me. Love this picture, because he always has a gesture to make sure the photo is not perfect.

Look at all the stamps I used from Unity Stamp Co.

Flowers, diamonds shapes, the sentiments, wood.... All.

Hope you like it.

Finally, let me remind you about the class I'm giving next February 23 at the Scrapbooking convention. If you are in Puerto Rico this day, you need to go to this convention. Click on the button at upper right corner in this blog for more information.  Or like me in facebook (Scrapper Myra), or email me.  This class is sponsored by Unity Stamp company.

Another thing, have a great Friday, and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win. It is Friday's Friends with Flair  at Unity.

Have a great weekend.

Another CAS card...

Hello my friends. I know I promised to stop by the other day to show you this other CAS card I made.  Sorry I couldn't make it sooner.
I really believe that things happen for a reason. I have been experiencing that a lot lately. Little and not so little happenings in my life have reinforced that belief.
But going to the point, I am glad I could not post earlier so I can show you the card today and link it to Friday Friends with Flair at Unity Stamp Co.

The card was real fun to make. This fabulous stamp makes it easy because it says it all.

I used patterned paper as base and embellished with baker's twine and a button.

The recipient was a male co worker.  So the colors were used thinking of that.

Leave a comment for a chance to win.  Have a great weekend.

Dreamer...

And here we go again...  I dream of a world where we all can do more of what we love... Without pressure or deadlines.

But in the meantime, I have to work and make some time for the rest. LOL!!!

I have been soooo busy planning a class for the upcoming scrapbooking convention and it is really very difficult with so little free time.  But it is fun anyway!!!  In a month I will hopefully be very happy and relieved... And proud.  And as I always say, you must have fun in the process!!!

Anyway, it is Friday and that means Unity's Friday Friends with Flair. I made some time to play with these new stamps and made a quick card to share today.

Thank you all for stopping by and leave a comment for fun and for a chance to win good stuff.

Dear Friday: You Simply Shine!

Hello everybody.

Today I am sharing two layouts I made as part of the First Communion album from my friend's son.  Remember?  I've told you about it in several past posts:  HERE and HERE2.  It's the album I did not want to make all the pages talking about the Communion itself so I tried to give each one a different focus and personality.

For this one I cut cardstock and patterned paper to simulate a very colorful sun.  Also used some ribbon, ink and of course... stamps.  Both these stamps are from Unity Stamp Co.  Some of the punched circles are placed in 3D for great dimension.

And this one is the one I positioned at the end of the album.  It's the one to preserve the program of the day as memorabilia.  I simply framed it with some elements.  The shaped cardstock at left was freely hand cut in white, punched the little holes with the Crop-o-dile, and then glued to black cardstock to cut slightly in the outside leaving an edge.

For the tag, I hand cut the shape, and stamped the sentiment  in white and applied embossing powder for heat embossing.  I embellished with a cutout made with the Cricut Machine.  Also used edge puncher for the black strip below.

I love using stamps for journaling, titles or making my own embellishments.  These are pretty simple pages made as part of an entire album and they are unique for the person to preserve the memories.

On a separate note...I have to tell you it's been hot in here... OMG... so humid.  I think we've had warmer weather in September and October, than during the Summer.  If you are wishing for some warm weather, come to Puerto Rico.

And it is Friday again!  It's a very special Friday... as everyday should be.  My birthday was last Monday, and we plan to celebrate tomorrow... Let's party!  And I will also have a week off from work next week, so today might be intense at the office since when you know you are leaving for a while, you will definitely find a lot of things to get done before leaving... right?

What do you plan to do this weekend?  Tell me about it.  Share it with me.  And let me know how you liked the pages and the stamps.  By leaving a comment, you might end up winning something from Unity Stamp Co. since this post will be linked to Friday's Friends with Flair.  Tks for stopping by.

This card was made for a friend at work.  Girly girl turned 30!

The stamped girl if from Wine and Friends kit, and the sentiment is one I've got recently from the Unity sale... What an amazing message suitable for lots of occasions, don't you think?

Have a great happy day friends!
