Pretty Friday... Pretty Please!

Hello Friday..
It's been a week without you...LOL

It's really been a week since I last posted something around here.  It's complicated.  The important thing is that the weekend oficially starts today.

This is a card I made last month for a special girl.  She's pretty inside and out... but above all, she's a happy person.  She's always full of energy and looking for the happy side.  She's the hyper kind of happy... I don't know how she does it but I think she's electric or maybe she's a robot, you know?  Don't tell her!

She also dressed up like Audrey Hepburn last Halloween, so I thought this sentiment was right cool for her birthday.

And since I had not shared the card before I think it is great to share today and link to Unity's Friday Friends with Flair.  So, leave a comment for a chance to win great stuff from Unity Stamp Co.

Have a great weekend.

...As happy as you choose to be...

Hello dear friends...
Today is the first Friday of my favorite month...  This is my birthday month... it's usually the month during I most probably can take some vacation time...it's also Halloween month... and I have decided to have a lot of fun this year for sure.  I will be as happy as I choose to be...  I actually plan to document every day of this month and make a mini album...  Let's see the result next month... :)...   Don't blame me if the project evolves and I end up doing something else... it's part of the process... and I need to enjoy it...LOL!

Anyway, I thought it would be nice I share here a tag I made for Unity Show & Tell facebook page last week so more people can see it and hopefully get inspired, as I definitely got inspired by others.  There were so many gorgeous tags made by all Unity Stamp Co. followers... It was awesome!

Mine was made by creating a background with Distress Stain and inks...

I then stamped this nice sentiment which I love...  but also stamped it in different patterned papers to cut the letters and create a collage of colors and textures by paper piecing it... Yep, it was fun doing it!

I added a letter "e" at the end... so instead of "YOU are as HAPPY as you choose TO BE", it reads "BEE".   That gave me permission to add this beautiful bee placed with 3D foam squares to make her pop out.  I stamped it separately, colored it, added some glossy accents, and... Of course, this fabulous bee has glitter... She shines!!!

A couple of more stamped images here and there... and washi tapes at the bottom, and some fiber to complete the happy tag.  I think it is very cheerful.  I plan to use it for a card, or maybe as journaling in one of my pages... who knows?

I hope you liked it, and don't forget to comment for the opportunity to win great stuff from Unity Friends with Flair...

Happy Friday...  Happy weekend... Happy Month!  Choose HAPPY today.

Don't Worry, Be Happy!

Friday... come to me...

Hope you are as happy as I am because it is Friday.  Tomorrow I will attend the Puerto Rico Scrapbook Event.  It's the fifth year in a row... and I am very excited.  A lot of great teachers will come, but I am specially happy that I will meet Teresa Collins... OMG!!!  I can't wait.

Anyway... today is Friday Friends with Flair at Unity...  Here's my post and contribution to this wonderful weekly activity I really enjoy.

First, the story... my mom has been through a lot of stress lately... I made her a simple card just to remind her that being happy is a decision.  I don't pretend to be the wise gal but I've been certainly through a lot in my life too... as everybody has their own issues... and I've learned that there's always situations you don't want in life, but the attitude is what really counts and define if that situation is worth the worries, or your happiness being threaten.  Does that make any sense?

The card is a CAS style (clean and simple).  I used patterned paper as based, placed a big button with baker's twine, stamped the word "happy" from a Unity Stamp Co. past KOM, and then stamped it again in other papers for paper piecing each letter.

Also used other stamps from Inkadinkado to add the word "be" and three flowers with some glitter.

Just a happy card to remind my mom her happiness is not dependable on others, but only her.

Have a great weekend.

Happy

Hope you are happy.

I'm happy. Today's a great day. Why? Just because...

Today I want to feel happy. I decide to be happy and make everybody else notice I am happy. Being happy can be a decision... not just a feeling, not just a consequence...

Go find a reason to be happy... and if not... just be happy because you say so.

This card was made for a Happy Birthday. I combined some patterned paper with embossed cardstock, and added some banner flags cut with my Cricut Expression.

I hope you like the stars with buttons I used as embelishments. I'm sorry I don't have the original packet of these beautiful plastic stars. They came in different colors and are self adhesive... but I don't know the brand.

And here is another card I made with some scrap paper from different projects. Making a background with several strips of patterned paper can result very attractive.

This butterfly stamp is from Inkadinkado.

After these photos were taken, I stamped a sentiment in the front that says: Happy Mother's Day.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
