Christmas Card

Christmas already?  No, no, no....  Unless we are talking about start making Christmas cards with time, we should be enjoying October and November holidays before Christmas is here.  Don't you think?  some people are already decorating with Christmas theme since the beginning of October.  I just wait until Thanksgiving has arrived.

But yes, I made a Christmas card in advance.  I assembled a vintage Christmasy look with strips of papers to which I distressed the edges.

I stamped several images from Unity Stamp Co.  The main one was stamped in the background, but also stamped on craft paper and partially cut to be placed on top for dimensional look.  I also used washi tape and enamel dots.   And I bet you didn't notice the cord around the composition framing it all... Did you?

Hope you like it.  Merry Christmas.

I'm sharing with Unity Fun Hop Tuesday.  Leave a message for a chance to win.

bye!

Take It and Make It Challenge - Craft Stamper Magazine

Sunday Sunday... It's kind of rainy today at home (Puerto Rico), but we've been waiting for this for a while.   Our island has been through a drought for more than six months now.

Anyway, I am sharing a special ATC I made for the Take It and Make It Challenge from Craft Stamper Magazine.  You can read more about it in the blog, linked HERE.

This beautiful girl is from Unity Stamp Co.  Love the way she is and is not smiling, and irradiates calmness... while at the same time you can't tell if she's happy or not.  Plus, naturally beautiful.

I stamped it in a canvas ATC and colored with watercolor pencils.

Then I created a mask to protect her while I used distress inks and sponge dauber to color her background.

I then inked the edges and reinforced the background with metallic Gelatos(R).  So sad you can really see the shining effect in the photo but it's kind of cool.

Finally, I also made the colors darker on this lady and loved the final result.

Hope you liked it too.

Cool Bully

Happy Friday!

Today I am sharing a fun card I made for a friend/co-worker at the office.  He had a birthday last Monday.  We always call him a "bully"...  It's not that he's a bully in the bad sense, but he has a particular ability to make fun of us and everybody... but without us being mad about it.  What a cool bully!  LOL!  It's really difficult to explain because it's not really bullying at all, it's just constant fun and making a joke out of everything.

So, he understands he's not a bully, and we are all against bullying, but he's our cool bully.

I used some stencils to create a cool background and sprayed some colors for interesting shades.  I stamped the birthday sentiment first (unknown brand, sorry!  I bought this a long time ago in a Michaels store), and protected with a mask before I satmped the word "bully" (Autumn Leaves stamps), with two different colors.  Then stamped the word "cool" (Technique Tuesday stamps), at the top.

I love the final result.  It's a unique creation and made specially for our cool bully at the office.

Hope you like it enough to leave me a comment and make my day.  Have a great weekend!

Au Revoir

A nice co-worker is leaving us this week and I thought it would be nice to give her a card to wish her luck.  She is resigning to her job to open a little Herbalife shop.  She was doing great as a side job but now she will be fully dedicated to it.

I'm using this stamp of me (LOL... I always say this is me because of the wine glass and the long curly hair...), but she kind of also looks like this image even though we don't look alike in person.  But she also loves wine... :)

The sentiment if from another kit but thought it was cool and don't need to add cliches such as "good luck" or "see you later", etc.

I wanted to color the background and the image with imperfect look since I used gelatos (with my fingers and brush), distress inks, and watercolor pencils.  I love this self made up technique I've been using for a while by sponging circles to resemble lights and transparency.  Love it.

I am sure she will love this card and that she is facing a bright future.

Will share this with Unity Stamp Co. and will link to its Fun Hop.  Since they changed it to Tuesdays I haven't been able to participate that much, plus I was kind of inactive the last month, so I can't wait to be part of it again.  Remember to leave a comment for a chance to win since the prizes are randomly for the linked projects and for the commenters.

I will also link to the new Be Inspired challenge that started today.

Have a great week!

Hello Pumpkin!

It's October!  Love this month.  Even though in my beautiful Puerto Rico we have very warm weather all year, and we don't feel that much of a difference between seasons, I love Fall.  There's not any particular reason except for all the cool things associated to this month... like nice weather (in other places other than home), nice colors, trees, and Halloween... plus it's my birthday month.  I just had a birthday last Oct 7, yeah!

Anyway, loved the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge photo and made a project inspired by it.  Decided not to make a card, but something different.  I embellished this cutie little bag.

I used doilly, straws (American Crafts), sequins and cord.  The image stamp is from Studio 112.  Also added some glitter (AC) and Glossy Accents.

This one's ready for some treats.

Hope you like it as much as I do.  Here's the reference of the challenge... there's still time for you to join.  Click HERE.

LCSC #52 Reto Octubre 2015 Latina Crafter
